Posted: Thu Dec 11, 2014 5:22 pm
You are asked to select a 2014-15 Premier League team from those remaining on the following:
Next, choose settings for the following options:
All games will be standard, 2-player, sequential, non-poly and 20 rounds
MATCHES
One new match per week. Each match consists of 3 games.
Season is 38 weeks long
Settings are as for the home team’s choice fixed at the beginning of the season
SCORING
Once all teams have been picked and settings selected, I will calculate a Scoring Table based on up to 500 historic results of other games played on this site with the same settings. The winner will receive a number of points equal to 100% - the proportion of games completed by the same round as the actual game played. Any game taking longer than 13 turns will be considered a draw and will earn zero points[/spoiler]
Example: if the stats show that for given settings, 35% of players can win a Classic map within 8 turns then the winner would score 65 points (100-35, drop the percentage symbol).
Points are rounded to the nearest integer.
This table will be clearly displayed in the next post.
For every 25 points that a team scores across the 3 games, a goal will be awarded.
Example 2: If Arsenal beats Tottenham by 143 points to 54 points, this will be displayed as 5:2
The number of goals is summed across the 3 games to decide the outcome of the match. Match points are awarded as:
- Win - 3
- Draw -1
- Lose - 0
This may appear a little confusing but it's worked well before and should become apparent as we play the tournament.
LEADERBOARD
Teams are placed in order of :
1. Match points
2. Goals Scored
3. Match wins
4. Goal difference
TIEBREAK
Should there be 2 teams tied at the top of the table at the end of the season, then a decider match on the 2014 World Cup map, with settings as Standard/Auto/Sequential/No Spoils/Chained/Foggy/No Trench. If this match is tied, the victor is the player winning the greater number of games.
Premium players only
Missing invites – miss once, you’ll get a second; miss twice, you’ll be treated as losing in 8 turns.
Reserves - reserves will adopt the match/settings of the player they replace
This tournament is inspired by jonty125’s “2011-12 Barclays Premier League” tournament.
