Roll 2 has finished.

The ladder ended up on 7 so all the people who had ended up on map 7 (Feudal War) had 4 points added and moved to map 11 (Austrum).

The chute ended up on 5 (7-2) but the chute does not operate on the first 5 maps, so no one was affected by it.

All of Roll 3 is out.

Everybody should have 6 games now. We lost 4 people this round.

Plus numerous people forgot that it is 24hrs to accept games. I have tried to be very forgiving in these early rounds but it really does make for a lot more work, so if you have something come up. Sent me a pm, wall me. I don't need details. "RL came in, still want to play. Please resend" If you know something is coming up, please tell me. I can sit on issuing games a few days (like gone this weekend, please wait until Monday). I think I am easy to work with as long as you don't treat me as a mushroom.

Several of you did this and I thank you. It helps sort out the confusion.

We are off to a fun start and we should have only normal game play attrition from now on.

All roll 5 out.

If you don't have the correct number of games, let me know soonest.

5 dropouts this round, so things got a little confusing but all should be on track now.

At the end of Roll 5 the ladder is at 1, so all maps 1 gain 2 places. In this case those who finished on Indian Empire and Discworld.

The chute is at 8, so all maps 8 lose 2 places. In this case those who finished on Italy and Alexander's Empire.

New games for Roll 6 will come out as soon as possible.

It appears that I won 3 games last round but somehow only moved up 1 space. Alittle confused on what happened.

You are correct. You moved up 3 spaces and then the chute was on 6. Map 15 which you had attained was a 6 (sheet 2 has all the maps numbered for the chutes and ladders portion). So the chute took you -2.

I added a column to the spreadsheet to reflect the benefit or loss that people are getting from the chutes and ladders. Hope that answers your question.

(May we all be like Fakyras who has gotten the most +9)

Ok that makes since. I forgot about the chutes and probably should have checked that first.

Everyone should have Roll 8.

I am aware we had a few no shows. I will get those blanks filled in.

Anyone who has not had 6 games issued, please let me know ASAP.

I'm getting a bit fed up of these chutes - I've been hit a lot.

Looking at the scores I'm currently 42nd out of 57 :-(

Without these pesky chutes and ladders the leader board would look like:

1st william tennant (30)
2nd Ragot25 (29)
2nd muti (29)
4th rƶde orm (27)
5th grt (26)

Anyway I knew what I signed up for but it's somewhat demoralising.

yes, grt, has a right to feed up. No one has been hit as hard as he has.

I will say I am seeing the desired effect from them. This round hasn't developed the separation that had occurred in the scores by this point in the first board game. By this point in the first game the leaders had jumped out to more than 8 places ahead. So they were playing each other and as would inevitably happen, one of them got hot and took all six games in one roll and the other was out. And that was the last we in the pack even glimpsed of him. He won with a very comfortable margin. His comments lead to the new rule that will see increasing use as we spread out; if you are in the top 50% of the board and are on a tile by yourself, I will put all the maps available to you in random.org and assign that to you. If you are the bottom 50% you get to choose. Otherwise the leader is always playing a well liked map, and no one is going to catch him/her.

So I do feel your pain, grt, but I am happy the desired affect is being achieved, that of keeping everyone within reach of everyone. We are not even half way and the chute goes away at the 3/5's point. So your game will take off and our leaders who have benifited from the ladders greatly will have to step up there game to stay in the lead.

A good response - thanks. I see there is more to come and you have put some thought in to how to make this work.

I like the concept and learning from previous events should make it better. We'll have to see how it goes nearer the end - hopefully I can crawl my way back to a reasonable position :-)

You were dropped at roll 7 for not accepting games. There is a twenty four hour limit unless I hear from someone that they have a RL complication. I don't need to know any details, just I have a RL problem and I need this accommodation.

I do this on complicated tournaments both to be fair to me and to the rest of the people in the tournament. The first few rounds I can't even get all the games issued before I have drops that take me longer to figure out than the original games did to issue. I started with
82 players.
1 v1 games, so 82/2x6, or 246 games to be created and sent out and still take care of my own RL I am not complaining. I enjoy running tournament or I wouldn't. I don't enjoy rehashing what has been done. I am quite capable of screwing up the games that go out on my own. And yes I do use the automatic emails from CC. It id's how I know that a full 24 hours has passed.

So I made the decision over a year ago that my tournaments run 24 hour game pickups. The games are 24 hours to move, why not the entries. And I run the policy without favoritism. I have dumped family members who did not pickup games. (I have a brother and sister who play on CC.). Even though I know phone numbers and could have sent a text.

So I am sorry you got dropped. You are a nice guy and I have enjoyed playing games with you, and I hope you'll continue to play in my tournaments. But bottom line I like my 24 hour rule and doubt that I will change it.

Fair enough. I wasn't aware of any missed invites so it must have been when I had a sitter.

Very possible. To all sitters out there,: You are allowed to accept tournament games for the person you are sitting for. I use the email to know when the time is passed so I am not dependant on my memory. And it's a wonderful double check on me. If I don't get the email from CC, then I failed to issue games, not your failing to pick them upn

A note to me ahead of time would help. Sitter possibly on the account and dates. Then I can make allowances because I know it's not you. I keep those kinds of pms and check them.

Roll 9 is complete. Spreadsheet is updated including applying the chutes and ladders. Requests have gone out to those who are alone to pick which map they are playing. Those by themselves in the upper 50% will have their map chosen by random.org.
