Any new features added?

Postby thenobodies80 on Tue May 19, 2020 6:50 am

Hello!

The blue chameleon is back so...

Any new features that have been added?
When I left the site I was working on a new map and I'm in the right mood to come back to work on it, so I'm wondering if i can restart to work on my original idea or if i can expand it a bit more with something new.

And again, the mapmaking process is like it was?

Thank you ;)

I was told they aren't making any new maps.

If you need any help let me know. I would like to learn how to make maps.

welcome back, nobodies!

i cannot recall whether conditional borders were working when u were last here, but they are an established feature now. not much else, sadly, is new: we have not yet managed to code successfully a beta map that is able to use transforms.

Yeah I think that transformations were the last announcement I did with the blue shoes...

I need conditional borders and transformations for my map idea, so perfect! :)

I'll post something in the drafting room very soon....need to read the guidelines since I don't remember all mapmaking process details. O:)

Thank you =)

Ian, another question: stages were fully implemented? I ask because the map i would like to develope needs more than a single image and each image has different territories, borders, bonuses, etc...
If possible the images should change when you meet certain requirements (mostly control some territories on the map) and they are not related with specific turns.
Is this possible to do?
Finally, is there a limit in the number of images that can be used?

Thank you

the nearest we have to a map with stages is the great war, which has two stages. however, the developer, oneyed, before he left the site, did not manage to set up the simplified working version of the map that bW had requested.

Hi all, I'd love to be involved in the map making process as well. I have a lot of energy and enthusiasm, either for generation or testing. Game design is a big hobby of mine.
Let me know how most helpful for me to be involved, love this community.

You don't actually need anyone's permission to get the ball rolling on something. You can post your ideas and drafts in the "drafting room" section. From there, you might get some tips to improve on your ideas, or enlist some help.

This area of the forum used to be bustling with activity. I think maybe people are afraid to just go for it. :D

Is there a list anywhere that shows all possible XML features we have at our disposal?
It has been a while and i did a quick look but did not find anything.

welcome back, wm!

sadly, other than conditional borders, it seems that we haven't managed to add any new xml features successfully on any map since u were last around.

as for old xml features, we have starting neutrals, one-way borders, objectives, adjusted reinforcements, auto-deploy, bombardment, killer neutrals, negative bonus, start positions and requirements.
