Why a British flag for Canada?

I just noticed in the Great Lakes map that there's the Union Jack for the Canadian territories! That's just wrong! What's the illogic behind that!

Beyond that, it's a fun map to play!

So far as i know canada was once part of hte commonwealth. BUt thats jsut my guess, check out the great lake thread here:

Um, it still is part of the commonwealth. and many commonweath territories have the brittish flag in the corner like australia does.

I'm afraid the previous posters were incorrect. (except for Bad Speler)

The map for ontario in the Great Lakes, indeed, the map for ONTARIO. The map of Ontario contains the Union Flag, but if you look closely in the Great Lakes map, you can see the little shield/coat. But yes, you are correct in saying that it is the union flag as canada was part of the british empire for a long time
