Every Map Needed...

I looked in a few threads just now (here and in strategy and in Q&A) trying to find out if there is one that lists every map being used right now. I failed, so here I come to you..... asking point me in the direction or make one. One where each map is listed and there may be a link to see each map. Also their levels of play. I know that I saw a list somewhere that had this kinda, I had copied the list of maps but now I have no freaking idea where I saw it at. This would be a handy link to point newer players to. Also even to help people making tourneys what style of maps they want to use. Thanks and if there is already such a thread please show me because I looked and came out with nothing. Hopefully it is/gets stickied for ease in finding...

My Detailed Map Statistics in Foundry Discussion has links to all maps presently in development. The Newsletter in the same forum has the same. Currently in play maps are all in the Final Forge forum.

I'm not talking about maps in development. Thats not what I am asking for. I am also not asking to have to go through 50 threads to see every map made. ONE thread for ALL maps that are IN use. :D

Like, a link to every active maps original thread here in the foundry?
every map on the site?

I don't think there is one of those. We wouldn't have much of a use for one, and I don't think anyone has compiled anything like it...

can I ask what you will be using this list for?

EDIT: After re-reading your first post, I think i know what list you are talking about. i'll go find it. brb.

Is this the list you were talking about?
There are no links to their pages, and this list needs to be updated to include the newest maps, but it's the only list of maps that I can think of right now.

What we did is put stuff into 4 basic groups.

1) Simple - If you understand risk you can just read the continent values, and jump in and play.

2) Moderate - If you understand risk you can understand this, but you'll need to read a rule or two in the legend first to get it. You could probably still jump in and play and be alright though.

3) Complex - It can be understood, but it make take you some reading and a bit of playing before you fully get it, there are many rules. Can't just jump in and play without reading or you'll miss things.

4) Extreme - You pretty much need BOB (script to help you understand the map) or have an avid background in strategy games before you can understand this map. Even with reading through all the rules you could still be confused and miss things without several play throughs.

Simple

Classic
Africa
Ancient Greece
Arctic
Asia
Australia
Battle For Australia
Brazil
British Isles
Cairns Coarl Coast
Canada

Extreme Global Warming
Feudal Wars

3) Complex

4) Extreme

Yes. Now if one of you can turn each map name into a linky with a picture of that map. THEN we have a thread we can sticky for newer players to understand the maps better.

Thanks wac for reading. ;)

That was only about maps in development.
And you would be referring to the Foundry Newsletter.

H2SY, if that topic existed, where would you want it to be stickied?
And if there is no such topic, I don't think there are many people that would be willing to compile all that information. We are talking about 88 maps currently playable on this site. That would be a ton of work for whoever does it.

Thank You.

If someone tells me how to find the image link for every map, I don't mind writing the codes. As far as where to put it.... maybe in here or Q & A or Strategy. Orrr if you wanna get real technical about it, it could be placed in with instructions lol

It wasn't the newsletter; it was info about each map. This was awhile ago before he "left"... no clue where it went though.

here's the link: http://www.conquerclub.com/maps/
But I'd talk with the map guys before going through th etrouble. They may already have somethign, or tell you where to find a thread.

Thats why I posted in the Foundry so they would see it. They would be the ones that would know about this stuff.

I agree. Don't get too ahead of yourself. Sometime in the near future (whenever us in the foundry get the info together and lack includes it in an update) there will be some kind of major expansion to the map section of "start a game". Each page will eventually have a link to details about that map, as well as recommendations towards what settings are best for each map.
I remember some preliminary work getting done on this idea, but nothing major any time recently, so I'm guessing that update is quite a ways off.

My suggestion would be to send Andy a PM. I bet he would be able to help you out more than the rest of us.

That was from another branch of that initial development. Our attempt at categorizing the maps into groups that everyone could agree on. It kinda worked, but not really...
