France map revamp

Postby pamoa on Fri Jan 09, 2009 8:49 am

Dear players, it's a dark day, France map is trash bin.
Here I call all francophone's and francophile's players for organising to restore our language honour.
If you believe in your idiom, if you love circonflexe accent, if you cherish grave accent, if aigu accent make you thrill, make your name and together we will organize the complete revamp of this map.
Francophone's and francophile's all over the world be united by respect for ourselves!

pamoa, 9th of January, Switzerland

hey rev et al.,
ya might be interested in the departmental map of france we're working on over at
viewtopic.php?f=63&t=77194&start=45
my list of bordering territories doesn't yet take into account the relief map of paris and the île-de-france as more than one territory. the goal is to make it as realistic as possible, with all the french strategy in departmental placement shown on the map (see forum posts for more detailed info).
cheers!

MAP FRANCE

Postby Lancelot du Lac on Thu Nov 17, 2011 8:15 am

Hi all,

First of all I wanted to thank you for the fabulous job you do.

I wonder if it is possible to redraw the map of France. This is completely false and a French as it hurts the eyes. Of course criticism is easy, so I suggest you tackle it, if you do not mind.

A geographer by training I like to allow you to redraw the map of France.

Can you tell me to take the specific comtpe?

Thank you all.

Normally comments on a map go in the map's individual development thread. However, these maps were completed so long ago that no changes will be made unless you are volunteering to redo it yourself.

Any chance of a revamp contest
now the map is full of misspelling and inaccurate naming

here is a base draft for a contest
same number of territories called after the largest cities with minor adjustments
same size of regions called after the main rivers
some reconfiguration / connexion changes

This is definitely one of the maps that would be ripe for a REVAMP...!

A revamp is necessary because of the spelling and because the original mapmaker is missing
I wonder how long a USA map with a Misisipi territory or a Suroeste region would have stand without correction
France 2.0 is a very nice map (Lancelot du Lac is a clan mate)
but it has nothing to do in gameplay size and type

This map only says f*** to France. Almost everything is at the wrong place.
