Let's face it, most of the people want to disable the global chat as soon as they see it.
I don't want the global chat on the "My games" page, but I would like to have it on the "join speed game" if this is suppose to help fill speed game.
Therefore there should be an option to have the chat only on the "join speed game" page.
You can always minimize it when you don't want it, and expand it when you do... by clicking the word "***CHAT*** on the left side of the Global Chat window. Doesn't that accomplish the same thing?
There is no way to have it be always minimized though.

ahh... i hadn't tried logging out and back in with it minimized. okay, i can see why that's annoying. i guess i could get behind having this kind of option.
