Pause game clock under agreement

Concise description:
  • Give players the ability to pause the game clock for an agreed period

Specifics/Details:
  • Allow players the option to "pause" the game clock for an agreed length of time. Various length suggestions would be 12hr,24hr,48hr

Both players would have to agree to this of course.

The way i see it functioning best would be to have 3 buttons on the side of the screen, one for each proposed time pause.

Once pressed, the other player would then have the buttons replaced with a statement such as "Player X has proposed a X hour pause, do you agree", with a "Yes" and "No" button underneath

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • People that work away / do not believe they will be able to take their next turn can opt for a game pause
  • Some people do not have internet connectivity at weekends, or rarely get time to play.
  • Some of us do not have sitters / people they can trust to take their turns, having the option to pause a game would be very helpful in this situation.

I would find limited use , even if I was busy sat n sun and I pushed pause I'd still have to log on to find whether or not it's been accepted and maybe forced to play the turn anyway if rejected .
I guess it could be helpful if you know you have a hectic day coming, but again if you run a bunch of games and only half accept may not help all that much.
Would it be of limited or unlimited use? Premium only? All players ? Can you back to back as many times as you want?

Of course it has limited use...

The idea would be to pre-arrange, so agreement made earlier in the week. Possibly with a proposed start date.

Second to this, have a weekday only option for games when starting them, that was the weekend is covered?

I'm just getting a bit annoyed with my constant missed turns at weekends due to work / other life things getting in the way.

I don't see this idea as practical... Icepack explained why
