Concise description:
  • when starting a game, selecting the parameters of play, there should be an option to select a Chat-less game. This would eliminate the ability for any player to communicate with one another within the game

Specifics/Details:
  • xxxxxxx

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • this would add a new challange, similar to fog of war, eliminating formal alliances and force players to use gut instinct and examine subtle details of play. Alliances are more "implied" by style of play and turn history.

The more advanced teams use Skype. Better at batting around complex ideas. The theory is nice but players can find a way to chat if needed.

This would probably just lead to more secret diplomacy. With the chat, at least everyone knows what is going on; or is supposed to.

Perchorin ran the "Sacred Vows of Silence" tournament a few years back.

I know several of us thought it was a cool experience to be absolutely forbidden to speak. Not something I'd want every day, but for a novel experience once in a while, it's worth a shot.

In actual combat you don't even know how many enemies are against you. In Advanced FOW you would just see the color and not the number of troops. This would likely break the auto assault button.
