Teams

Ive been playing almost since this started and i work in a internet tech support center and about 15 - 20 of us play in our own games. We thought the team thing was cool but, you should make it that if some one on the same team owns a whole contanent then both should get the armies. if you dont want to go that way then make it possible that if they both own the continent together then they both get armies or split the armies between them. but the bigest thing was that both should be able to own part of the smae contanent.

well I think it is suppose to be close to Risk and in Risk you only get the bonus armies when one person owns all the countries in a continent.

Real Risk also doesn't have official teams.

interresting idea.
I though about that too when I was playing in team games, the problem is how will you divide the armies? Maybe by the ratio of countries the player owns in the continent? ex: 1 player has only one contry in N-America and his partner has the rest, the first player should get only one army bonus and his partner get the rest...

What do you guys think about that?
I know it is as dificult to program the separation by ratio than the division by two, so if Lack wants to do it, it's the same (one or 2 lines of code difference). But it is still difficult to program...lots of "if" to put down in the source code... You're braver than me Lack => KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

also, teammates shouldnt be able to attack eachother at all.

THAT is garbage. If you own all but one territory in any given country, and the only way to get the bonus is to attack your teammate, I'm sure it'd be ok with him. Especially since you can fortify to each others territories.

Or is your point that sometimes people don't realize they're on a team, and just attack anyway? Someone suggested that there should be a pop-up to say "Are you sure you want to attack your teammate?" This would be a nice addition for those of us who get stuck with noobs for teammates, but certainly one for the back-burner.

THAT won't work... especially for those of us stuck with a deadbeat partner.

in doubles if u and ur team mate are in a territory i suggest that they split the holding bonus, it doesnt make since for allys to attack each other thats like usa and great britan attacking each other in ww2 for territory its rediculus..

any1 agree w/ me and if u disagree give me a good reason y.

Thats no risk, since in risk only the player that hold a continent gets the bonus. It will also make to get bonus much easier, and I think this is a good reason to dont change the actual rule.

aculay in the rule book it stats then if you and a team mate own a coninanete the 1 with the most contries gets the bonus its in the rule book

I think that cards where your team mate is on them should receive the 2 extra bits in doubles / triples

This I can agree, but bonus armies for splitted continents, bad idea.

This thread is garbage.

You need a good reason why? Here's one...It's called get your men the f*ck outta Dodge and then have your teammate help you out when he gets the bonus, ok?

Fucking whiners on this board man.

Aren't double turns making the game easy enough for you already?

team continents

when there is only a team left in a continent they should get a boost from that continent like split it three ways in a triples or somthing like that.

The strategy for team games is such that 1 player must control the continent. It adds a variant to the strategy, which would otherwise just be like a singles game with more than one person controlling each player.

I agaree with qeee1. Team games would almost be like 1v1.

Continent Bonus for teams.

Suggestion Idea:

When a team (in doubles/triples) hold a continent the reinforcement bonus could be divided between the teams.

Specifics:

Could be an equal division (i.e. Australia has bonus 2 - each team gets 1 each)
Could be a proportional division (i.e. Africa has bonus 3 one team hold 2/3 of the continent thus gets 2 bonus - other team holds 1/3 thus bonus = 1)

Why it is needed:

Eliminates the need to kill your own teammates to gain bonuses...

Priority** (1-5): 3

This has been discussed several times before, along with fortifing through team mates and giving team mates cards.

I play alot of team games and I don't like this idea. If you want the continent you have to take the risk of losing some armies. It would almost be like playing 1v1.

sounds better than it is game would be over in 3 turns every time...half the time you'd get dealt the continent...

knowing when to attack your teamate and when not to is the whole point of the game
