Lapse of internet connection = Tough Luck!!!

In Round three of Game number 7344897 The following happened:
I started to play my round and just as I started to deploy the troops the Internet Service Providers power went off for a few hours.
Next morning when the internet was back on I went to see my game... all was in descent shape.. I did loose a spot and was with minor damage from enemy fire... but with my "Owed 9 deffered troops" I should have been fine when I got to move again... But on my next move I was not able to recieve my 9 troops.. Not even at the end of the round for reinforcement... they were counted as "Awarded" to me in Round 3 but vanished when they were not deployed...
I looked it up in the rules and it is there... But I would respectfully ask that this situation be handled as a "Missed Turn" would be... "No deployment or partial deployment = Troops bumped to the end of next round" would be fine... Rather than the way the Rules are currently handling it...
This ruined that game for me... I know it probably don't happen that often but when it does it just is not right... Needs to be fixed.
Hope someone in here that works in the rules can take another look at this situation... see how it may be better handled...
Thanks Crazy Frog

how is CC responsible for your shitty service provider? now they have to craft a rule that takes into effect each individual users internet provider and when/if net lapses occur? how do you suggest they handle people with faster providers that play freestyle and speed? perhaps this should be moved to suggestions, i can see a ground swell of support for this one... *cough*... the black jesus has spoken...-the black jesus
p.s.-i can see this poorly thought out suggestion being abused in so many ways, it is kind of comical...

I can't even begin to understand how you thought of this response after reading the OP. This has nothing to do with this player's ISP. All he's asking is that if you start your turn and do not complete the turn by the end of the hour, that you get those troops next turn instead of losing them forever.

This was absolutely a bummer. I think all of us have had this happen now and again for various reasons. (my son cut my connection on a speed game, for example... lol ) Anyway, the problem is the potential for abuse.

For those who replied in a civil and explanatory manner... Thank you.
To the others.. Whatever.

By the way.. outside of a person signing in and then deciding to "Not play the round"... which should hypothetically be the same as missing a turn...
So why treat it differently from a missed turn?
If there is so much room for misuse.. fill me in. I don't see it. You miss a turn you get clobbered generally... so that is not really a win win situation.

Agreed, it is incredibly frustrating when that happens. I don't really see any potential for abuse that couldn't be overcome by treating it as a missed turn.

Think about it... how many times does this actually happen? You have been here for a year and a half, and this is supposedly the first time that something like this has happened, or you would have come around complaining already. This seems like a once in a blue moon of happening. I'd rather have lackattack focus on something useful, like a major bug from Bug Reports, or some new game type, then have to worry about something that very very rarely happens.

i've read the OP several times and I'm still failing to see how this is anything other than a problem on the user's end. while internet service issues are frustrating, i don't think it falls within Conquer Club's responsibility.

By that definition CC should never have allowed deferred troops for missed turns. The point is that it damages the game and is inconsistent. I don't think anyone has said that it is CC's fault, only that it should be fixed

Happens to me HEAPS...true...what can you do...accept it...don't think CC can should re-write codes to cover this situation...and i know exactly what you mean, if it hapens in mid-turn you don't get to have them when back on line...I pay 300 Aust (about 350US by now) a month to get screwed over and the losses in CC are a v.small part of how it affects me...just pput it in the "shiite happens" pile and move on...CC is a relatively small business and shouldn't be expected to expend time and money fixing the screw-ups of big business...just my 2 cents worth,,

No... Not every single time that a player misses a turn is caused by a shotty ISP. It could be caused by a lack of time to get online, or are simply away from a computer.

and isn't lack of time "a problem on the user's end"?
It would be nice to get this fixed, but, as has been said, I don't think it's exactly the highest priority. Still if they eventually get around to it, it'd be nice.

Yes there is a Problem
Yes there is inconsistence in dealing with it...
Yes the problem that causes the disaster is normally on the users end..
Now... How to deal with it...
I Believe that it is an Inconsistency like the others stated above.
I believe that this type of situation should be treated as a missed turn... person signs in and then not able to deploy...
should be handled as a Missed turn with deployment at end of next round.
Lackattack may very well have other more pressing things to look into... and maybe this is a low priority... but its this type of Bug that aggravates people who are "Just in here to unwind and have a good time"... So I would think that would bump it up a notch or two in priority... its a real problem that is happening to real users... Users who may stick around.. or may just get bored with it from little gremlins and the Obnoxious comments from some of the people they encounter when they come to talk to you all about something...

Here was your reply on a similar thread...
This has been discussed again and again. This would hurt more people than it would help. You are basically punishing people for having life intervene, or something close to that. We can't force this upon everyone. It could be made as an option, but there are way more con's then pro's if this is forced upon the whole of CC.
I Agree'ed with you on that one... And I think it is just as applicable here in this thread.

you didn't missed your turn so your troops aren't deferred, it's simple really
the only thing that needs fixing is your internet connection

Game 8056593 Round 33
Happened again.. well almost... this time I finally managed to get the troops placed.. after a bunch of error messages...
Rule needs to be modified... that would totally bite to loose a well played game that has lasted this long... due to servor malfunctions on either end... players end or CC's end... dont matter... it just needs to be fixed in the rules to equal a missed turn situation.

I've had this happen to me a few times. Mostly from when I started the turn on iphone, and lost internet 3G.
The worst time was when I traded spoils for 50 troops and was about to sweep the board...and kept getting timed out and couldn't reconnect the entire hour :/...worst loss of my time here. Not only didn't I get my troops, I didn't get the spoils, and they had spoils still to be turned in.
I understand its a "user" problem, I should / could have waited til connected via a landline. But he's right, it would be *nice* if it was treated as missed turn / deferred, but I agree not high priority.
