Deadbeat Replacement

Concise description:
  • After 3 missed turns of a non-singles' game, a deadbeat player is replaced randomly by a similarly ranked player, who is is then given 24 hours to take the deadbeat's third go.

Specifics/Details:
  • The replacement player should not be one of the existing team members, as that might evoke strategic use of this deadbeat policy.
The random replacement player should have the same, or very similar, points to that of the deadbeat and must, of course, be a non-freebie.
Any points gained by the replacement palyer will go to that replacement player; points lost go against the deadbeat. This is to ensure that any randomly selected player is not disadvanteged through this policy.
The random replacement player is selected by pm'ing several (say 10) random players of similar points; the first one to accept is adopted. If there are no acceptances, the game resumes with no replacement player (as now).

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • We have all suffered from playing with and against deadbeats and it is one of the, if not the, most frustrating things affecting CC game playing. This policy seeks to reduce, if not totally eliminate, this frustration.

I like the idea, however the logic behind making it work would be very difficult.

This idea is very very similar to one sitting in Submitted, however points are handed out regularly, not the replacement player getting double the points.

Interesting idea, but it seems like it would be difficult to implement. I would accept that invitation every time.
