I believe that the current tournament system is flawed in some ways. I think that instead of having passwords for tornament games, there would be a box where you say that only this person and that person can join, and anyone else cannot. A prime example of the flawed system is the NFL tourny.

But then what happens if someone drops and out and you need to use a replacement?

then whoever is in charge of the tournament would click a "replace" button on the persons name in the game list. then it would say "replace with who???" and he would type in the new guys name.

I did not think of a replace button, that is really good thinking.

I'm all for making it easier to organize tourneys and this is a great idea!
Organizers could reserve spots in the order they list them, allowing you tospecify teammates in doubles and triples tournaments.
I suppose participants would find the game on the tournaments tab and join as usual. If you are not on the list you'll get an error message?
We don't absolutely need a replace button - the organizer can always make a second, corrected game and the first will disappear after 2 weeks.
Could listing players method replace using passwords on all tourney games?
To prevent non-tournament use, could we make it a rule that you can't list yourself?
P.S> What happened in the NFL tourney?

All very good points, lack. To answer your question, P Gizzle announced the passwords to all the games and two people joined illeagally. He had to make copies of the infected games. Will this be on the Christmas update, lack? Im starting a tourny and I want to use this system.

Something else that would be easier is if the tourny games did NOT disappear in 15 days. Make it 30 days. I have had a lot of people put off joining tourny games, and by the time they join and I send passwords to team 2, there is only a couple days left. So if anyone from team 2 stalls... then I have to start over.

That's okay PG, we all make mistakes and it's the thought of organizing a tournament that counts

Maybe I'm getting carried away here, but would this be possible:
When you add someones name to a specific user spot in a tourny game, maybe it could send them a PM to let them know they have been added. Maybe even a link to join the game?
This would eliminate the most time-consuming part of tournies, the pm's to each individual person in the game.

I think it would. I would rather have this than passwords for tourny games.

Sometimes people participate in their own tournys.

Regarding the PM - I'll try to get that in too for the Xmas update.
