Safari for OSX not compatible - Scaling all wrong

Postby lykoz on Sun Sep 14, 2014 1:36 am

Bug that cuts sidebar on safari
Bug that when you zoom into the window... The start end turn does not scale with the screen requiring left/right scroll to play, making the whole process cumbersome.

Operating System: OSX Yosemite beta
Browser: Safari
Scripts/third party programs used: none

First screenshot shows scalling problem in normal zoom... Note: you can see some of the left sidebar is cut off..

Second screenshots shows scalling problem when I zoom in: (Note: this time I have intentinally zoomed away from left side bar)
When I zoom in to see game better... You will notice that the: start/end turn buttons do not follow me into zoomed screen... This is a huge problem especially for speed games. Chrome does not have this problem. It scales down the begin/start button into the allocated zoom screen.

Screenshots.

Note for consideration:
I run OSX Yosemtie Beta which is not the final released product (It is available to the public however). However I had this same problem running OSX Mavericks when Conquerclub updated its: Start/begin/end turn bar.

You might want to test this on OSX Mavericks, which is the current latest official OSX release.

Could you check with the "Hide Left Nav" from the Game settings and set it to Yes and see if it will make any difference?

I have Safari for Windows and the whole CC page fits just right on the screen. Are there any other Mac/OSX Yosemite users out there? :?

Safari for windows has been discontinued... So you must be running a very old browser version...

Can hardly say its an applicable comparison.

I know, just saying. I can only wish for a Mac. I am sure there are other Mac users out there who also have the latest Safari version as their browser, and perhaps have the same OS as you have?

I am using the latest full version of OSX for mac, Mavericks 10.9.4, with the latest Safari and I don't see any issues.

If I zoom in, the buttons do scale with me.

Yosmite IS a beta that you can download for free. I believe Apple's intention is to give the OS away free from now on. The reason I don't have it is because betas are unstable and I need a stable mac for work.

Now... back to Firefox.

Ok well I figured I could "sort out the scalling" by using Cmd + instead of pinch zoom...

However on my panel interface it doesnt show "indicators" for deploy-fort-etc... I.e. the yellow and red borders for attacking etc....

Any suggestions?
Could I ask you to check it on Mavericks plz Shannon

You're welcome.

Well... I will wait a while before updating. ;) Mavericks was unstable for a while after it's official release too. Someone else in the design industry warned not to update because of stability issues. =)

Checked out the Pinch Zoom on Mavericks. It works fine unless you zoom in on big maps. I guess the issue is limited to the pinch zoom (which I never use haha).

Hey bro thx for reply... No not the "borders"... I am looking for the Normal Indicators... i.e. where you deploy to... Where you attack from... and where you are attacking... It does not show those... Not the borders...
Also my setting are correct for Chrome.... Its just not working on Safari...

I am not really allowed to talk about it ;) So dont forward anything... But Yosemite has been pretty stable... from first public beta release to public (they did not do a public release beta for Mavericks... they only did it for developers...) At first there were some battery issues... but thats all fixed...

Yosemite as it stands is pretty flawless.. My only complaint is OneNote app does not work... But thats probably because of Microsoft... There obviously waiting for the official release to fix their little compatibility problem... Everything else... No problems at all...

They tested with Devs.. then with Public release... When they Release it officially there wont be any stability issues.... I know because I am using it... It was stable from start... And they fixed every single issue I gave feedback for...

Yosemite release will be completely stable on said release date.

If you are running a bussiness system with specialised software, i guess you could check that they have updated all their apps/programs... But like I said every single one of my apps/programs works flawlessly except OneNote..
