Can any of the mods change it so that someone else's post is first or just make the poll themselves?

I'm all for this suggestion, but I think aon has left forever...

Game discription

Postby frankiebee on Sun Dec 19, 2010 10:00 pm

Concise description:
I cannot imagine that nobody suggested this before but couldn't find it anywhere. The idea is easy, when you create a game, you have a line where you can put some text for people to read who wants to join your game.

Specifics/Details:
Sometimes you want to play a game against anybody, but with several conditions. You want to earn a medal, so you don't want that somebody joins all your game, you want to play somebody of a high rank but the call out forums take so long, you want to play real time, you want to play somebody from a specific time zone or somebody who speaks a specific language. These are all things you can put in the game description.
Some time ago, somebody was pissed off at me because I joined 3 games of him because he wanted medals, but I had no idea ! This idea would prevent that kind of annoyance.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
Besides that it is handy because of the reasons above, it's also fun ! You can challenge opponents with phrases that might be cool but most of the times will let you look like an idiot :P : ''You don't win on emotion, you win on execution!''

if you tag a game with 'this game is to chase a medal, do not join if i have defeated you already' and someone you have defeated joins anyway, what then ?

Nothing, besides that the one that joins is a complete ass.
There will always be people that like to screw somebody, but most people (including me) just want to play a fun game. When I see that somebody made that game with a certain purpose (and he doessnt want me to join), I won't join it.

I imagine plenty of people would disregard/ignore your game intent and join the game anyway.
This post was made by jefjef who should be on your ignore list.

I like this suggestion. Sure, a lot of messages will be ignored, but I think it could still add value e.g. "No noobs please" would be followed most of the time. "No jefjefs" on the other hand ...

Premium only though

sorry jefjef but this made me laugh

anyhow, this suggestion would be obsolete if jefjef taught everyone how to hit the foe button, or explain how to in his sig

Private game labels [Poll Added]

Postby Mr_Adams on Wed Apr 20, 2011 10:58 pm

Allow the labeling system used in tournaments to be used by premium members when making private games.

I belong to a new user group called the experimental gamers, where we test out (to the best of our abilities) different game styles which are either suggested in our forum, or here, in the suggestions forum. Currently we have 3 kinds of games (that I can think of off the top of my head), which are Panic! (My own creation :D ) Where in you must cash cards if you have the option. So, in escalating, you can't wait for higher value in flat rate, you can't wait for a mixed set, and in nukes, you may be forced to nuke yourself!, AA (Adjacent attack), wherein, you may fort troops after an attack, but then they are done for the turn! You can only attack from territories you owned at the beginning of that particular turn!, this requires a bit more planning ahead than other versions, and finally, team assassins, which is pretty self explanatory, and, in fact, there is a tournament waiting for players if you would like to try. As is, it can be hard to keep track of which games are which, but if we could use the same labeling system as the tournament organizers use to keep track of rounds, etc, it would be much easier.

The only question is: Why not?

People could use this system to write inappropriate things about other members.

IMO, simple solution for that. If you abuse that privilege you loose your premium.

No, that's ridiculous. CC's response to everything seems to be that stupid 25$ fine. Make a mod power that would allow you to remove this privilege for the remainder of the person's premium, but taking it away for what could become an arbitrary contention depending on the opinions of the current moderators would be wrong. when you start to messing with money, I have a serious problem with it.

I didn't mean that you should loose your premium for one offense, but if after being warned, you continue to abuse it, then your premium would be revoked.

Anyway, that's not the point of this thread.

I support this suggestion. But not because it is useful for a particular group I am part of. I think this would be useful for everybody. Clans could label their private games too.
