Re: Private game labels

Postby SuicidalSnowman on Tue Apr 26, 2011 8:17 am

I didn't know this thread existed until recently, but I just don't see why not.

1) This seems like an easy implementation. (code wise)

2) It makes so much sense for clans, usergroups, and really even just anyone else.

3) I think the abuse concern is moot. Players can also write mean things on walls, in game chat, and on the forum, and we have already developed a system to deal with it. The same could go for game labels; no new mods, rules, or systems needed.

4) It could also be good for the callouts forum, when two players start a 1v1 challenge, the games could be labeled.

I support this suggestion. Would make life easier - specially with experimental game play.

I would use labels quite often if it were implemented, so I think it's a good idea.

I think this is a great idea, and am disappointed it hasn't garnered as much feedback/support it deserves.

Alright, I don't know if this is exactly the same concept (yours is just private games), but this suggestion is pretty much identical: viewtopic.php?f=471&t=133613

I'm not really sure why it's in the rejected pile...I guess it didn't get much support. As a premium perk, however, this would be awesome. With a 22-character limit, I really don't think should be THAT much programming to do on it. Right...?

I have wanted this before and never suggested it. Now I look and it's here. How convenient.

I have read through the thread and I found no one that does not want this. NO ONE!

We have 100% agreement from everyone. Has this happened before with more than 3 people? Start a poll. Whoever votes against is immediately banned.

It doesn't matter if everyone on the site wants this. There are about 4 billion pending accepted suggestions and none of them have been implemented. This will just be thrown in the junk pile that's considered the good junk.

You could put the password in the label, and have it as open as a public game, but avoiding the new recruits/deadbeats ;)

Wait, how will that keep them out?

Will we have to like, make a code in the forums for games with passwords?

NR's can't play private games IIRC.

When starting a new game: A comment Box

Postby Cherry pepsi? on Fri Apr 13, 2012 4:19 pm

Being a free member (which I have been a premium, but unfortunately can't afford it right now), I have set up many 1v1 games where I'm hoping that the person will agree to an RT. I do know that there is callout forums, and a callout section in the live chat to try to find other willing players to play a game, and maybe a RT. But I feel like maybe there should be a comment box where you can mention a comment like "Looking for an RT" or "Looking for a good game" "Good luck playing against me", or something short. It could be like an optional introduction of what type of person people are going to be playing.

I know there's plenty of flaws in this. But I thought it'd be worth suggesting. What are your guys's thoughts. Has someone thought of this before?

When you make a game, there is already a box available to make a game label in... It is functional for tournament games, but not other games. Maybe it could just be enabled to allow people to add text to it. I would like that.

And, I'm pretty sure what I am saying has been suggested before... I'll look for it.

Found what I was looking for: viewtopic.php?f=471&t=143590

That suggestion is for premium members only and got put in rejected for some reason. People wanted it though. The poll says 13-0 right now.

Weird. I can see that it'd be hard to regulate what everyone is saying on their every post. So it could be offensive or something.

Yes, that is really the only reason not to have it, IMO. But people can easily be reprimanded for putting things in the game label that they shouldn't... So, I'm thinking that it shouldn't be that big of a deal.
