No, that would mess up the users online statistics.

Er... No, it wouldn't. Handing out a cookie doesn't mean anything. Having the users online/offline status is as simple as logging their most recent click and comparing that with a set 'online' standard (For example, 10 minutes).

Login times

Postby Stratagem on Wed Apr 18, 2007 12:18 pm

It would be helpful not to have to re-login to the site every 30 min or so. If you could login once and be able to check games for 24 hrs before a re-login, that would be more helpful when playing at work (not that I play at work...)

Great site!

This would throw off the who's online thing.

Allow user to set auto-logout timeout

Postby fugue137 on Fri May 18, 2007 11:30 am

  • Suggestion Idea: Allow the user to configure the time delay before the server logs her out.
  • Specifics: I would suggest a numerical entry box on the "My Settings" page, with 0 or -1 indicating "disable auto-logout", and numbers representing minutes. Alternatively, a dropbox with "Never", "15 minutes", "30 minutes", "1 hour", "2 hours", "4 hours", "8 hours", or whatever. Yes, logarithmic scales are your friends.
  • Why it is needed: Because it's frustrating having to continually log in again to see whether it's my turn yet. Many people are playing from their personal computers, where there is essentially no chance of someone usurping their games.
  • Priority: 4? Who am I to say? It's important to me. But I would think that this could be done very easily.

Many thanks for the great site!

well at this moment you will have a 24times log in maximum :) and i thnik you will sleep a lot of times. so i think it will go to a maximum of 4 log ins pro day. just get an easy password, thats not the big deal, but i like it if i could just auto login, from my own ip...

'Remember Me', cookies and Google Toolbar

Postby flippety on Sat May 26, 2007 11:44 am

Hi all, I'm a new member (considering going Premium because 4 games just is not enough!). I love the site - well put together i just have one confusion. I don't stay logged into the site... If I close my browser when I come back I have to log in again. This is fairly annoying... but I'm surprised on this oversight as the rest of the site is thoughtfully setup. Did i miss something? Also I'm trying to build a google toolbar button to get me into the site quickly and notify me when its my turn... any chance of making the login php page support a get as well as a post? Thanks

There are also other downloads that tell you when it is your turn, or you could use an RSS feed.

thanks for the support wcaclimbing... I agree.. I'm not sure that 1000's of users installing an add-on to fix a site is a better solution than having the site fix it once. It seems a simple update which is why i suspect there is a technical reason for not supporting it - in which case i'd like to hear it.

I dont have firefox either but I dont like it when things automaticly log you on. With cc it doesnt matter so much because who want to steal my account. Partialy because they could make one for free and partaily because I suck. But there are more impportant things to do

I don't want to log in anymore!

Postby paulk on Wed Jul 25, 2007 7:36 pm

How come I have to log in every freaking time I wait more than an hour between checking on my games?

Can't you simply add an "Remember Me" or "Keep Me Logged In" check box to the log in form?

Please. This should be easy to implement. A little cookie.

actually yes you do, if you aren't active for a while it automatically logs you off, even if you keep your browser open

i can see why people want it and for some it could be helpful
but if you click that you want you want the password remembered for a username all you have to do for internet explorer is type the first letter of the username and its all there for you

its not very difficult

but i guess there isnt a reason not to have it? lol

Sure I can change my settings to remember my username and password etc. (Something that I really dont want on my computer though.)

But then I still have to click the freaking log in button.

I want to be able to click "My Games" and get there without any extra fuss.

Why do I get logged out at all?????

It's not like it's my bank statement....

And if I really really need to be logged out, can't it be changed to 24 hours at least?
