i take it none of you know how to use clickable maps corretly then...

When attacking a territory, hold CTRL key while auto assaulting; this will bring up a box that will ask you about your attack, for the number you wish to remain on the opposing territory type [/"insert number here"], this will then attack down to the number you specified.

It works almost the same for your territory numbers, it will tell you in the box, i have actually forgotten currently and have no active games to find out :)

Hope this helps

EDIT: all you have to do for this to work as per the suggestion is; type the number you wish to deplete the enemy to in the box. However you must note that if you do not bring it down to where it should be this will cause it to continue assaulting randomly..

Are you talking about the clickies add on or the normal site clickies?

It's the add on.

Beware though, it's rather buggy when you use that feature.

not everybody uses the clickies add on and not everybody knows how tho use the option above. So an extra button for "controlled auto attack" would be very nice. But it really should be an extra option cause when you try to auto in a speed game and the site asks: How much do you wish to spend? just when you try to eliminate someone in an escalating speed game... that would be, not nice at least.

I personally feel everyone should become acquainted with the clickable maps add-on. It is much more comprehensive and more effective than the built-in version. However this is a good suggestion and it would be a nice implementation for anyone not looking to upgrade to the add-on for whatever reason they may have.

auto roll reserve

hi
been playing for years. never posted. i'm sure i'm not the only person to have thought of this, but in case not, i thought i would. if someone already brought this concept up, please don't tar, feather, and pillory me for it.

i guess part of the charm of the auto attack is the balls-out all or nothingness of it. but it seems like it would be cool to be able to auto roll for only a portion of your armies. say you have 50 in china and you want to attack india - but you don't want to put all 50 on the line. you enter the number of troops you are willing to lose - say 30 - and if you're really unlucky and lose all of them, your remaining 20 will be untouched.

seems like a something that should be an option already. do premium members get this?
thanks,
~m

Merged. Also, if I remember correctly hmsps is not the first person to bring this up, but I could not find the other thread I had in mind back when hmsps created this one.

My fear is that it would clutter up the whole thing too muc. And it wouldn't be used that often anyway.

Don't know how it would clutter.

And if you wouldn't use something like this, then maybe I should take you off my foe list and play some Sunny games against you. Easy points!

Publish battles/dice stats in game log

Concise description:
Option to publish results of attacks in game log

Specifics/Details:
If you auto-attack or keep hitting the same territory over and over, have a button that will publish how many armies each side lost in game log. If you advance or attack somewhere else, button goes away. Nothing more than one button though, no need for a whole new interface for an option that really doesn't change gameplay.

Log will display something like Red lost 20 troops attacking Yellow who lost 2 troops. Maybe it can display dice stats or battles won for the last 5 attacks this game like it does on the profile.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • If you are in an alliance to take down the game leader, you can prove that you did your part by softening him or her up but not taking a territory.
  • Sometimes you get amazing or terrible dice and it would be awesome to show this off, admit it, everyone has at one point or another been shafted by the dice or had a lucky streak.

I'm not sure if I would want this feature.

It seems this would really only be necessary in fog games. You can already see everything in the sunny games. I wouldn't want others to know these things in fog games against me.

Not only that, I think that Dice Stats handles this pretty well already.

Also, take a look: viewtopic.php?f=535&t=138522

New assault option - Moderate assault

PostPosted: Fri May 18, 2012 5:02 am
by Lalloq
Concise description:
Help to attack a big stack in a region without conquer it

Specifics/Details:
I often play games where players get big stacks of troops (crusades, napoleonic, rome). I like, maybe I'm not alone, to attack this big stacks but not conquer it, in order not to be attacked by an adjacent stack. But it is very long to attack 300 vs 250 without conquer. I suggest to have a new option :
- Assault
- Auto assault
- Moderate Assault (or other better term).
This moderate assault would be an auto-assault which stops automatically when the defender region has only three troops.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
Click 150 times on "Assault" is not good, especially when the computer or servor is overcharged.

Thanks for reading and sorry for the english of a funny french

See you in another game.

I sort of like this but I think there are better options available.

Why not just a button that allows you to make, say, 5 rolls at a time?

I like it, I think it should be a Conditional Assault

Assault until [textbox] *dropdown*[attackers, defenders] remaining,

Example:
Assault until 10 Defenders remaining
Assault until 5 Attackers remaining

That way it also makes it easier if you want to "poke" someone but you dont want to blow your whole stack

Been suggested before in a slightly different fashion. I would support either way.

The other way said that if you have a stack of, say 200, then you could say that you want to auto attack to a certain troop count, like down to 100 troops.

This is actually my preferred solution. I thought I about writing it in the post immediately above yours but ended up deciding to stick closer to the original suggestion. I know that your option has plenty of supporters, including me.
