Oh, the naĆÆvety of youth...

Listen, when you grow up, you'll come to realize that people are sick, twisted perverts regardless of gender. No matter what kind of disgusting, sick, reprehensible shit you're into, I fucking guarantee you there's at least one person who shares the same fetish and will do it willingly with you, as long as you're not a totally unfuckable douchenozzle. And maybe even then.

Well, yeah, but for some fantasies it's probably easier to just pay someone than to search high and wide for that one person who shares your bizarre preferences.

Then there's the level of discretion offered by the paid service. If you go 'freemium' and ask your partner to shit in your mouth or try to seduce a schoolgirl in the park, they may tell other people what happened (especially if they turn you down, which is always a possibility). A sketchy hooker or trafficked child comes with the implicit promise of silence.

Convenient and quality-assured. Gweedo is buying groceries online while you wander round the forest looking for berries.

Oh frabjous joy! That is the best metaphor I've seen in years! "LOL" is often used but rarely literally true -- but in this case I really did LOL!

I think you're in the wrong thread. This thread is obviously talking about sexual perversions, not websites being hacked.

And who said our forums are moderated to death, and don't allow for a natural flow in discussion? HA!

No, it's morelike he's paying $100 per metric gallon for bottled "spring water", while I'm getting my water from the tap for free... or heck, forget about water. The best analogy for sex is porn. You can either go to a sketchy, dark, dirty, smelly hole in a wall and pay good money to some greasy pervert for porn DVD's or magazines. Or, you can download it for free from the internets.

Price is no guarantee of quality. And if you don't take my word for it, you can ask my friend the prince of Nigeria.

Beyond the frankly disturbing conversation above (and I can remember when natty was that innocent chap with the spunk-worthy avatar...What happened to you natty??? ) one can but hope CC will still be here in five years. I have no idea how I'd occupy myself at work without CC.. :)

When was that, Changsha? Methinks you're remembering a past that never happened... kind of like those people who pine after the 1950's family values, when men were men and kids could buy radioactive toys and play with sharp objects...

And more to the point, what happened to you, Changsha? I can remember when you used to be in the Best Clan... what happened? Did the man get to you? Is that what happened? Did they buy you out?

to get back on track... i'm not really sure... right now it seems like the powers that be get ideas and they seem to be half baked or just dead in the water... case in point, Conquer Stars... they were supposed to be a great new thing... they caused lots of excitement in the forum... then we quickly realized you couldn't really do anything with them, so what is the point? i heard it would all make sense soon and that they were figuring that out... ok... so why not figure it all out and then release the drab stars upon the community? i don't get it... they gave us something that caused a buzz and now they are a bit of a joke for those of us that are active in the forums... i think they are trying to move CC back to when it was fun, before the old team killed off the forum and ran off a lot of prominent CC'ers (thank myself that perma-bans can now be lifted), but is it enough? the forum has always been a small slice of the community... the biggest issue it seems that they need to deal with is the cheating. the lack of different types of games being played. CC seems to have turned into a point race and less of a casual gaming site. i don't know... something needs to be done and i think they are trying to do that, but the place just continues to seem like more of the same as the time passes us by...-el Jesus negro

The best explanation of the Conquer Stars was provided by metsfanmax in this thread: Get bigwham to explain what he has in mind with conquer star

Metsfanmax wrote:...There was no master plan in mind when inventory was created. It was created as a framework so that as good ideas come to light, there is a way to implement them. That has been clearly seen with the other things that the inventory is now capable of doing, like the Easter event we're in right now. The conquer stars themselves don't need to ever be useful for more than entering autotournaments; they were there as a way to make the inventory have something upon launch.

Cheating and farming are much reduced. It might not be immediately obvious, because there's still the occasional high-profile cheating case which creates a big stir and makes it seem like cheating is rampant, but an objective look at the numbers shows that it is vastly reduced. The farmers, especially, have been reduced to insignificance. They still have their freestyle quads farming traps out there, but almost nobody falls into them because they've been relegated to page 60 of the join-a-game, veterans don't bother looking at that page, newbies are steered away from it with a wide range of new-player initiatives like the coach bot and the SoC guide program, and abusing the invite system to get people there is punished reliably.

The biggest obstacle is still inertia. Once a system starts moving in a certain direction, it take a LOT of effort to change its course. CC got into a downward spiral of departures leading to depressed attitudes leading to more departures, and that spiral has been brutal to overcome. Still, I remain optimistic.

Bring back the Flame Wars section of the forum. ;)

In the early days the forum was always a massive part of the experience for most of the regular players. But now it seems almost dead. How you change that, though i have no idea.

the forums were epic... i remember i used to read them and be afraid to post... it was just a really fun place to read what was going on and to get an idea of the personality of CC... then the powers that be at that time just slowly killed them off with non-sensical changes, heavy handedness, repeated bans that made no sense, perma-bans that still don't make sense and an odd interpretation of the forum rules... they cleaned it up and the forums died... it is sad to check in to CC Fri-Sun and only see ZERO posts in the GD... i applaud the recent efforts to correct what was done to the forums... but when you spend a few years killing off a vibrant community, it doesn't come back over night... they got what it seemed like they wanted and now the new guys are trying to get it back to something a bit more fun... i think it will take a lot of time for that to happen...-0

Exactly. I remember a time when maybe 80% of the people who i played with & spoke to were all about the forums, it was more of a community than this is now. The days when the Stachewackers were around etc. You logged in just to get involved in the forum activities. I can see already from just a few days back that the forum is near dead to the point where it's hard to even come here and try & make conversation, without that you're just playing games without interaction & not much love can be formed with a site (I'm talking new members, where the problem will lie)

well I personnally love the forums and the site wouldn't be the same without them. You weren't there, but until a couple of month ago the forum button was in the big tabs and the new management decided to make this small insignificant thing on the top right to access them.

and, like all things CC, we were told it was going to be fixed... it gets old... 1/2 step forward, 4 back... i mean, how hard is it to put it back? just say you aren't doing it, instead of hoping that if you say you are, people will just forget about it... the biggest issue has seemed to have across the board, is a lack of respect for it's paying customers... i truly feel that way... as a premium member of this site, i feel an absolute level of disrespect permeates the air around here... you can see it in the decisions, the changes, the bans, the odd rulings, the dismissive nature of the powers that be at times... i know they are working towards change, but a lot of damage was done and it is going to take a long time to repair this place... guess cleaning this place up for HASBRO didn't really pan out... just kind of damaged what made the site fun/unique... so the rumors go...-el Jesus negro

Sentimentally I agree with you but I think it would end up much as these discussion forums: a hollow, dead shell of its former self. If they brought Flame Wars back it would it exist in name only. I hate to say it but we need to accept the current state of this website and move on with life. It has become exactly what the people that post here there days want- Facebook lite with a Risk game attached that a few people take too seriously and the rest don't seem to care about much. All the fun is gone from here and, honestly, I don't ever see it returning.

On a side note rondildo (lol), I'm happy to see that you've returned even if you've found the place in shambles. Always nice to see old forum faces even if we spent a fair amount of time insulting one another but of course it was all in good fun. I still think fondly on the days of discussing ways to insult you and various other folks with Dancing Mustard and the other Chaps.

Thinking that you can invite some old, previously banned members back to the site and return it to the "glory years" is ridiculous. It ain't happening. You can't manufacture something that just isn't present anymore. The site has changed, and I don't know that it's possible to recreate the old days. Really, I think it's silly to try. Don't live in the past; look to the future. And good luck with all that.

The early CC community was very much a product of its time. Reddit and Facebook and Youtube were just starting to be adopted social community spaces and other social community spaces ( Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram, Steam, etc) were further on the horizon. I think based on anecdotal reports, forum communities across the web have dwindled in numbers -- even as more and more people are moving online, their interaction and drive is further pushed outside of the traditional model of forum communities that have been around since the 80's.
