CC Premium membership thread

Ok since all the bull shit changes that are going on around here I have a legit complaint!! Out side of hatting most updates to better our site and it never seems to better anything, and the greed of the owner in this site is out of control.

Why on gods green earth does it cost more to gift a membership to another player than it cost to buy one for your self? It cost $29.99 to buy premium for your self BUT it cost $39.00 to gift a membership to another player. You are forcing us to buy 3500 credits witch you don’t offer you have to buy 2 – 500 credit purchases and 1 – 2500 credit package witch totals 39 bucks. Then you have enough credits to gift a membership to another player.

This is total extortion and total BULL SHIT that we have to pay more to give a gift than it cost us to buy for our selves.

I am sure I will get the same treatment just like any one else that voices there opinion and be told to shut the f*ck up this is not a democracy here this is a dictatorship here and if you don’t like it just leave!!!!

Every question asked about this has been ignored.

ATLBravosfan wrote:Hey everyone. I remember seeing a link prior to now for gifting a premium membership but now I cannot figure out where it is. I assume the website still offers this because, why not? If someone could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated. My brother's birthday is quickly approaching and I'd like to get him an awesome gift!

Thanks!

Then i posted

TheJonah wrote:So why does it cost more to buy credits for someone than buying premium? All i want to do is give a gift of premium like i have done in the past.

All i wanted to do was gift premium to someone. Straight and simple. I am not able to do that though.

It really does seem fairly ludicrous that one would pay more for a gift than for just the premium itself.

The current scheme fails on two points:

1. Customers are less likely to buy Gifts because of the higher price

2. Less Gifts to potential customers reduces site-awareness

I've gifted premium quite a few times in the past. If what is posted here is true. I have purchased my last premium for others and myself

I think you do not understand the meaning of the word communist. What you want to say is " CC is a dictatorship/tyranny".

Otherwise, you right. This is weird.

This is exactly what I was trying to say in my post from a week ago - I guess it didn't have a sexy enough title so no one read it :)
They will defend this practice by saying that many businesses do this kind of thing to milk a few extra bucks out of you, that it's just clever business. im no businessman, but it seems to me that companies that do that actually give you something for the extra few bucks they weasel out of you. For your extra $10'worth of credits, you're not even getting anything of value. Even a coffee mug with your username on it would be more valuable than a package of drab stars!
Incidentally, way back when, I actually bought a coffee mug with the conquerclub star on it, and my friends username. There was a site linked up (zazzle I think) through the cc site. If cc is incapable or unwilling to make things like mugs/shirts/onesies for the baby or whatever, why not link up with another site like that again? Surely they'd get a commission or something. Unless I was the only idiot that ever actually bought something?!

Welcome to my world...I have purchased around 20 memberships for people but under this rule I have purchased my last. Very poor business decision on their part as it is taking money directly out of their pocket...

And once again the silence is deafening from those with decision making authorization.
Maybe they are locked in a little room coming up with well needed site innovations like novelty sound effects for deploy, attack, fort, etc. I just wish I had access to experimental drugs of the strength being consumed by some around here.

+1

At least my username would make for a good coffee mug though.

you didn't mention he was travelling....... Previous posts and other threads have drawn attention to the fact that mods don't really have a say. Hence the call for someone with authorization to make decisions to sort this shit, or explain why they are deliberately trying to ruin this business. Look forward to a PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT from him on this naked rort/stupid marketing decision.

Don't give snark to the mods, they have absolutely zero say over things like this and Keefie didn't have to take the time to look into this.

apparently he was just as concerned about it as the rest of us. or he wouldn't have bothered. i'm not getting on keefie. i've only addressed the circumstance. which to me seems like when the gift premium tab was deleted it surely came up with the boss that gifting premium would now cost more than buying premium for personal use. however long ago that has been, that issue is sitting conveniently under a rug somewhere. and will most likely stay. as the boss doesn't have a good track record of undoing what has already been done regardless of the popularity for or against. so I'm sure we'll just hear the bosses excuse from some super mod the reasons why he decided to keep it the way it is, a long thread will be made and people will post until everyone gets tired of talking about it and the next big unpopular change gets put into the spotlight.

but who gives a shit right? we've got chess and scenarios! whoo hoo!

Ok just did some quick math here even if you purchased the big pack of credits(11000) for 100 dollars and got credits on the cheap it is still more expensive than the value of membership.
I think the logic is credits are less valuable than actual money and the site gives credits away for events and tournaments and surveys and such.
They are trying to give us an incentive to buy with a card instead of credits, which is understandable.
All that said why not just have an option to pay 29.99 for a gift membership?
I mean these people are throwing money at you.
Catch!
