Should I?

I think I have a pretty interesting idea for a Mafia game, but before revealing it, I'd like to ask the vets if they would consider joining a game made by a very new newbie?

Or, if perhaps not, could I maybe get a co-mod to sponsor my idea and teach me the ropes of modding an entire game? An answer on either of these would be largely appreciated.

P.S., it may be the mood thinking up this game has caused me to be in, or perhaps I'm just a very suspicious person, but I don't feel entirely comfortable sharing my idea unless it's with someone who's dedicated to co-modding with me.

Well, I suggest playing a game here first to let the player's familiarise themselves with you.

That's what I was thinking, and I wasn't going to even think about starting a game of my own before I finished my first game, it's just that the idea hit me and I'm kinda excited.

I guess my real question is, how long would I have to be playing before anyone could take a game proposal seriously?

If you really want to start it, you could get a vet to co-mod with you after your first or second game.

I'd co-mod.

I'd suggest someone else. No offense, but there are plenty of people here who are more qualified than you.

Also, it depends on the complexity of the game. You might want to start of modding a C9 game, and work your way up.

hrm, I'm most likely in enough games as is.
But I might be interested in co-modding, if it's not too big a setup...

If he does decide to do a C9 setup, then there really won't be any need for a co-mod.

Eh, I'll just put it away for now and chew on it and see if I can improve the theme.

In the meantime, I'll get myself established and all that.

See now I never bothered starting with a C9 game, I just jumped in at the deep end from the beginning, and look at me now.
4 games and one currently running under my belt with a reliable source of new and old players I can count on.
If you have an idea, go for it. Just be aware you will make a mistake, or six.

Yeah, I'm definitely not starting with a C9 game. Seems really boring. I do want to participate in a few games however before I start modding them.

1. Definitely participate in a few before trying to run your own.
2. Animo is definitely not the one to ask about a balancing act/co-mod as he is still pretty new and gets confused over some of the basic setups and acts that take place(no offense animo, but you proved this again recently in the pets mafia game when brown and I framed you for the crime)

I wasn't in the mafia, and I was brain dead at the time.

we KNOW you weren't in the mafia hence how we framed you. you were confused over your doctor role though thinking that somehow dunc was killed twice or something :)
