New Map: Final Fantasy VII Overworld

Postby HEMO on Tue Apr 17, 2007 11:34 pm

I have begun work on a FFVII map. I think i will be able to handle the XML but my weakness lies in creating the image.

I am open to opinions and suggestions!

thanks!

here is what i have right now.

First off...

The countries are way to small they would need to made bigger. Also they seem too straight and not jagged which takes away from the overall appeal of the map

Secondly...

It looks real blurry

Finally...

thanks! those are great comments!

I need clarity on most of the issues.

#1 I've been working on my map using Paintshop Pro 7. I'm not a graphic designer in anyway. So my map lines are smoove because i haven't found a good way to make nice clean jagged borders. I planned on working on resizing the map later on.

#2 its blurry because i saved it as a jpeg, i realized this later and i have the original saved as a paintshop pro file. I created a PNG picture and its a lot clearer.

#3 I was wondering about the copyright issue myself. But with Tamriel being another copyright world, i assumed that other video game worlds would be ok as long as the creator is given credit.

So what i'm looking for is some input on maybe a better program to create my map with? so i can resolve the issues with bad borders and make a nice clearer image.

I would also like some input as to whether i should continue down this path or try something else.
