i have an map idea, but i don't know how to start with it in photoshop...
this is the picture of the map:

gelderland is an provinde of the netherlands and its nto similair to any ther maps here on cc

don't mind the colors those have nothing to do with continents

i am asking you to think its a good idea or not, then i will try to make it or not

Netherlands and the Benelux area seems to be a recent burst in popularity!

Andy, I think this is my fault, and partially the fault of us having a separate forum.

I will comment about the map when we see some continets to work with, but looking good already.

thnx but i didn't made this one, so i have toget the names out of the "countrys" well i am now on half way

and i made a draft background, and made the lines more black i will post it when the names are gone

How many territories do you have Wisse? Do you intend of keeping them all because some seem a bit small.

hmm i don't know.. well i will count the layers when i am ready with it
and yes some are actually small i will compress them to 1

I would call the bottom right continent 'Arnhem' or 'Arnhem Region', something like that. Instead of KAN. Although people from Nijmegen will disagree

Beyond the small territories that Ruben mentioned...
A province of Netherlands?????? Unless this one comes with a new feature, it has the same appeal to me than a US state: absolutely zero.

the places south/east nijmegen are called rijk van nijmegen, and the places north/west nijmegen are called het land van maas en waal

To me this map isn't ridiculously appealing. I'd be interested to play the netherlands and benelux maps, as they have more 'international' appeal as whole countries. To me a region of the netherlands has no appeal outside of dutch players (unless this map will have some interesting and unusal features to play with).

But then again there seems to be a lot of dutch people who love CC, so maybe there'd be enough people who would like to play it.

well before i go farther i will set up a poll if more than 50% like it i will do it

I think I will never understand why people are interested in create maps of tiny states that no one else heard about, with many good ideas in the ideas thread.

Anyway, I want to comment that I dislike the options you put in the poll. 3 options (I love, I wouldnt play and Its terrible) show fierce convictions, and I think people couldnt show that type of convictions in initial steps like this map is. I think the poll would be much more helpfull with a question like "Is it worthy having a Gelderland (Netherlands' province) on CC?", with options "Yes", "No", and maybe "I dont care". If you ask Andy, maybe he can help you

Using polls doesn't always help guage interest.

Right now, I'm not a fan of the map. It isn't interesting, at least, with the other areas maps in production.

While I'm sure you could make it into a decent map, I don't see the appeal. A bunch of USA state maps got rejected and I think they had more appeal.

this could be a good map but i have a proposition. I dont read the language but in the original map there were three or four colours dotted fairly randomly across the map, i would be interested if these became continents (with huge bonuses). The orange coloured things could perhaps be capitals of the different regions (or call them something else if their not capitals) and could have their own bonuses.

This would make the map unique in my opinion and would inspire interest. I know that many people in this forum will not like this idea because it will not have 2 small continent and a large one etc... but i think this would make the map different. Otherwise it would become a map that nobody would know where it came from and not bother playing because it would b e like many of the other maps we have. Just a thought.

well, its not a good idea to take those continents... because those don't have to do with eachother an any way (exept the way the maker meant it but it don't has anything to do with continents that way)

Hmm I would like to see this map finished and I don't see anything wrong with it. I prefer a new map than a revamp of the Middle East. Why don't you modify the poll to Yes and No and wait to see the results? If enough people want to play it I think you should stick with this map.

well we have now 8 yes and 6 no, but i don't want a map that no-ones playes, i am now making a map of china, because someone already is doin a revamp of middle east
