I want to see if there is any interest in this map at all....It needs work but I don't want to put in the effort if it is a lousy idea. Obviously I thought it was kinda cool.
Each controller and the pong in the middle would be countries and then buttons would be countries and then their would be connections from each adjacent controller to each other and the four outside would reach to the pong machine.

Yeah, none of the big companies like that will ever give you the green light, much less all 4 of them.

I see no copyright violation here. The presence of a logo on a product in an image does not pass the bar for violation. If it was, you would have to get clearance from Anheuser Busch every time you snapped a photo of your friend with a bud light in his hand.
The Foundry is overly paranoid regarding usage rights.
That being said, this map is a graphic and game play nightmare. I see no appeal.

you give subtle references to the idea,... Like maybe You can put a cube to represent (Obviously)... and a Protractor For (Again.. Ya Know)... and like a Boomerang to represent (The other)... I think you can find a creative way to answer this problem

But you DO have to get permission to use that photo in any commercial fashion. Haven't you ever seen clips on TV where they blur out the product label? It seems crazy, I know, but if they don't get permission that's what they have to do.
The Foundry is paranoid because it has to be. What if Microsoft came in and demanded that the map be removed? They've made a lot more ridiculous demands with relation to copyrights before. Even if he thought he was in the right, do you really think Lack can afford to stand up to the onslaught of M$ corporate lawyers? He would be forced to remove the map, and with games in progress it would be a logistical
nightmare.

I think if you take two ups, two downs, a left, a right, another left, another right, a "B" button, an "A" button, and a "start" button, you should get 30 armies for that.

The problem is this site makes money, no directly off the maps, but since it does they could claim that the site is making money off their stuff. you don't sell your pictures of your friend so there's a difference. But I seriously doubt they'd look into something this trivial, still a good precaution to take.
and sorry don't like the idea

This map doesn't even appear vaguely interesting.

This would be a lot more awesome if you had part of the map look like Super Mario World, another Legend of Zelda, another like Final Fantasy 7 maybe, and some other games.
As game controllers and pong? No.
Also I think you guys over stress copyright issues on this site. Anyone ever hear of fair use?

I like the map, but you should blur out the names of the companies, just in case.

I really like the idea of the diffrent worlds, like Super Mario Bros 3 and Zelda, mixed in with some others.
I like that idea a lot. Any other ideas for the different "worlds" to use? Definently Super Mario 3 and Zelda.
