Hexagons Ho!

Okay so if anybody's ever played hexagram on Landgrab (which is the only good map btw) you'll know were this idea comes from. It's obviously a ripoff, but I'm trying to get a general idea of whether people would play a map without continents. Then I'll reshape obstacles to look more familiar, maybe some part of the United States or something.

...I just realized that the top left corner needs to be fixed.

Another example, just to show you what I'm going for. EDIT Tilt your head to the left, I forgot to rotate it on the computer.

we already play a about 2 maps without continent: Circus Maximus (no bonuses at all) and AoM (resourses give armies instead of continents)

Yeah but circus maximus is really small. I'm talking about no bonuses except territories.

This is looking a lot like Honeycombs, except with impassable borders.

I actually quite like it. Games with few or no continent bonuses are much more tactically challenging than normal games, but Circus Maximus is too small and restricted to play on.

this would be cool if it a bee hive. like have some honey runing over the map, and insted if having a river have a honey river, and make bonuses like : the queen bee, the worker bees etc.

The only problem I see with this is coming up with a theme where it makes sense to have no bonuses.

 Themes aren't needed. people who think Themes are needed should go die, for there extreme stupidity.

unfortunately without a theme a map won't get much support.

about the map. i like the idea of no bonuses at all but there are 2 problems with this kind of maps.

1. movement has to bee damn good to allow various tactics.
2. dice play a very important part.

basically you get troops for how many terits you own. right now there are 108 terits. in a 2 player game the first guy gets 12 reinfs. if he gets lucky dice he'll probably take let's say 7 terits from the opponent then if the game is with unlim fortif he can fortify his position and defend it well thus leaving the second player in a very delicate position with just 10 reinfs and the only places he can attack have 15 or more troops. he can't get a single terit and from there it's game over.

Themes aren't needed. People who think themes are needed should go die for their extreme stupidity.

Stupidity? It's an observation. A map without a theme will not pass, I've seen it many times before.

Agree. I'll think of a theme, most likely will be a land mass. I'm thinking about merging this map idea with another one that's been flying through my head for a few months now (changes include hexagonizing the territories, adding more territories, and getting rid of the red ones, which were originally going to be bonuses):

What if the theme were Colosseum? It would compliment Circus Maximus in a way since both would be Roman-themed no bonus maps but movement would be more free in the arena.

The problem is that if you make a real life location, the natural bonuses would be Siam, Borneo, Java, and Sumatra.

This is bullshit. My scanner automatically crops the image, so some of it is missing.

You have to put Siam at more of an angle, or Sumatra.
I have to say this again; you're an excellent drawer.

Yes, I see my typos, it's called typing fast, and not re-reading. ;) ALso what I mean is if you think that it needs a theme to be final forced, then it should happen. Not if you think CC thinks that. ;)
