World 3.0 - [Vacation until map size limits are rediscussed]

read the title and you'll know what i'm talking about. a world 2.1 on steroids. a world that has ALL the countries presented on the map. a world where each and every player can find his country and play for it in a game for world domination. there are 194 countries in the world. i want to make this map as realistic as possible and so there will be no subdivisions for any country like world 2.1 has. for example USA is split into 6 subdivisions in world 2.1. no here it will be just one big terit called USA. that won't be a problem because the intricate bonus system will have no problem to deal with a North American continent made just from Canada and USA.

let me develop further on this new gameplay.

i shall study all the countries in the world and find out the political, economical and religious relationships both good and bad. and the bonuses will be based on a plus and minus system. for example holding several countries from the former soviet block will bring a bonus for having countries that share the same political views. holding iraq and us will bring a negative bonus due to different political views but also due to religious reasons. or let's say you have cuba and russia. bonus for good economical relationship but also bonus for political views. you get the idea.
also huge bonuses will be given for having the entire EU or NATO, etc.

i'm also thinking of maybe adding even more realism to this whole thing. i'm really thinking of a way of making political and economical embargoes possible. for example russia has a good economical relationship with bulgaria and somebody owns both and gets a bonus for them. if somebody else conquers all the countries around bulgaria then this country is considered under trade embargo and it no longer brings a bonus. but that's just an optional thing that i'm not even sure is possible to code in the xml.

so what do you think?

the only problem would be the size of the map. at 194 terits it will for sure not fit in the current size guidlines. but since world 2.1 does not fit and it was allowed to be made and nobody complained i'm sure some understanding would be found in this case.

I 100% back this map. But right now there is no way for it to work. It seems the guideline deadlock has went against us. Unless we can get lack into serious talks with the community in general then i see this staying the way it is.

I think you may have real problems with smaller countries like luxenberg and the countries in indochina.

I like the idea. I also think this size limit malarkey is daft.

by the way, i think there should be bonuses for specialised forms of cuisine. Like thai, indian, chinese, french, italian, mexican, etc.

yes i know about the problem with the size limitations. but since world 2.1 was deemed worthy of live play and size guidelines were bent because it is a geographical map i'm hoping that this one will also get some lenience.

and yes i'm aware of small size countries like luxembourg or vatican and i will deal with them at the right time.

nope i don't want to group countries like that. if by the time this map starts belgium netherlands and luxembourg unite as one state then i shall do that. in the meantime i plan to respect all the correct borders.

dont think that is correct now that scotland and wales have their own governments, might want to split it up but have a bonus for controlling the queens interest:
england
scotland
ireland
wales
australia
(and other commonwealth countries)

exactly how wide is 2.1? and how wide would 3.0 be? i don't think i would play it if i had to scroll side to side also..

maybe it will 'slip through the cracks'.

lord knows how many people would have been deprived if world 2.0 got hamstrung like the other big maps. 35,000 games and counting, all because the mods made a mistake and let a great map through.

The whole bonus system sounds too confusing for me. I still can't fully figure out AoM :?

Otherwise good Idea I guess.

Excellent....

Awesome idea.. do it... I wonder .. since you are gettting so in depth... Yuo may want to add Some of the Oceans as territory ... as In US Controlled Waters / or trade routes... That would be a great way to incorporate military strength Bonuses...Which can be Regulated by adding More neutrals there than normal to control the balance at start of the game

A couple Ideas.

Have Natural Resource bonuses like that in age of merchants

I know you may be against this since it wouldnt be geographical but you could tone down the size of the larger countries and do the reverse for the smaller countreis

if you dont like that idea for areas with lots of tiny countries you could Put zoomed in boxes of that area in dead zones on the map such as parts of the pacific indian atlantic oceans e.t.c.
