The Lost Continents

I was thinking about a new map idea and I came across the story of Atlantis
So I start looking over the Internet about some maps about it and I decided to give it a try...we already have some world maps but take a look at the first state and tell me if you like it and what you want to see in this map...

personally i like the idea, but i have to admit, islands are one of the worst terrs to play on a risk map. u have to add all these attack lines to each of them and it just clogs the whole map.

where u thinking of making each continent a bonus in itself? or sub bonuses on each continent and a +1 or 2 for holdign the whole continent?

ya Eria is like north America...if you don't like the shape I can change it...

And for the source...does it matters to you? there is no historical background, Atlantis maybe never existed so I thought 'why not adding another continent...'

And the bonuses will go like in world 2.1 each continent will be divided in 2 or 3 and when holding everything you get more

I really like this, but you should add more lost continents, like Lemuria.

As far as game play, no, it doesn't matter. But it would make for a better back-story if there were actually multiple "lost continents" as the name suggests.

Greek travelers wrote of a great island called Thule, which later Europeans came to include in their maps of as a lost mythical land far to the north..

In the 19th century some quack historians and novelists popularized the idea of a lost continent of Mu, from which the Mayans may have descended.

Also in the 19th century, the notion of a sunken land in the Indian Ocean called Lemuria caught on.

There should be lots of sources for all of the above. Have fun with it!

Lumeria and Mu are situated east of europa/Gondwana...so I'll need to shrink the hole bunch,I 'll post an image on what it will look like with it included...
But I think it wont look that good...

actually the world with all lost continents looks like this

I only dropped Jambu and replaced it by Lemuria...and I made 'North america' a lost continent 'Eria'
I know it doesn't looks right...but on a world map you don't see Atlantis as well...I just created an alternative world...

i say just stick to ur original 4 or 5 small islands that can be subdivided into 2-3 bonus depending on the size. we dont need a lost "world" map.

What about making it a sort of representation of how the world will look when the sea leaves rise? maybe exaggerating it to make it interesting.

Gnome...some feedback....when i read the above about Atlantis, I was hoping to see shapes I guess that didn't resemble anything in the current world continents.

A suggestion would be to find an oceanagraphic map re the sea floor and extract the continents above sea level and make some new continent shapes from outlines that exist under the sea.

In that way they would truly be "lost" :)
