Well, I've been thinking about map series (like Age of Realms, WWII) and I had an idea. Wonders of the world! Basically, you have the wonders with territories and bonuses! Tell me what you think.

Ancient wonders are
Giza Pyramids
Hanging Gardens of Babylon
Statue of Zeus at Olympia
Temple of Artemis at Ephesus
Mausoleum of Maussollos at Halicarnassus
Colossus of Rhodes
Lighthouse of Alexandria

Medieval Wonders include
Stonehenge
Colosseum
Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa
Great Wall of China
Porcelain Tower of Nanjing
Hagia Sophia
Leaning Tower of Pisa

Modern are
The Empire State Building
The ItaipĂș Dam
The CN Tower
The Panama Canal
The Channel Tunnel
The North Sea Protection Works
The Golden Gate Bridge

Natural are
Mount Everest
The Great Barrier Reef
The Grand Canyon
Victoria Falls
The Harbor of Rio de Janeiro
Paricutin Volcano
The Northern Lights

im not sure how this could be implemented as a map.

aor is different than this because of the fact that it uses the same map every time. your idea doesnt seem to do this...

and as for wwII, those are all related, but they are based on like whole areas such as the western front or iwo jima etc. the idea you've produces seems like it would just be 7 territory maps

maybe im not following it the right way, or maybe you could clarify how this would be set up in a game

Hmm, 4 different sets of wonders could be 4 "bonus continents".... To own a bonus continent you would need to own 1 of the different sets of wonders (eg;. all of ancient wonders)

Say Map of world, where each wonder is placed in its country. Owning Europe does not give you a Bonus, but owning (Giza Pyramids,Hanging Gardensof,Babylon,Statue of Zeus at Olympia'Temple of Artemis at Ephesus,Mausoleum of Maussollos at Halicarnassus'Colossus of Rhodes,Lighthouse of Alexandria) would give a bonus.

There may be lots of countries which will always stay neutral, as no one will want them, such as Age of Realm, or age of Merchants... Other countries would have 2 or three wonders placed on them (divide countries up into enough states to allow 1 wonder to be placed in 1 state-- USA needs one state to hold Statue of Liberty, one for The Golden Gate Bridge, one for the Grand Canyon)
Interesting thing is... in above scenario, holding USA would give no bonus, as Grand Canyon would be a different "bonus continent" as it is a natural wonder, while other 2 are Modern Wonders..
A Great idea... ImageImage

There is a new set of the 7 wonders you may want to include or adjust to this new selection

Unit, please point Sydney Opera House where it actually is, not in the north of NSW..

And this really buggered me.

Modern are
The Empire State Building
The ItaipĂș Dam
The CN Tower
The Panama Canal
The Channel Tunnel
The North Sea Protection Works
The Golden Gate Bridge

Why only North American stuff? What about all the other wonders of the world like the Eiffel Tower, or maybe the only 7 star hotel in the world at Dubai? Sydney Harbour Bridge would also be one, and the New Delhi palace, or whatever it's called. Come on, the actual world, not just North American things for modern.

well these is good Map idea discusion topic,we can only discused, and nothing else, because is dificulty to create map with only 7 Wonders.

If you start put all these"wonders"then you never finish a map.

we can argue for weeks about what the wonders are... even Herodotus' original seven could be up for debate since he never made it to Asia or the Americas, as missing fromt he list are such wonders as Machu Pichu, the Forbidden City, Teotihuacan, Angkor Wat, etc. The lists are extremely western-centric and subjective. This, however, could be ironed out with polls and the like.

The bigger question for me is how would you structure gameplay. Are the wonders territories? Are countries territories, and you get a bonus for holding terits that contain wonders?

So are you trying to do this like the Time and place map?
