Hi Guys,
I've been working on a concept for a new map. Here's a sketch of the idea:
Territories:
North Towers (3 towers)
South Towers (3 towers)
Gatehouse (3 towers)
Attackers (4 tents/encampments)
Inner Bailey Buildings
Outer Bailey Buildings
Keep (central tower)
Not sure of bonuses yet but wanted to get feedback early on on this one.
Thanks.

Interesting. Me likey.
Can you keep it hand-drawn, that would rock.
You should get extra bonuses for owning the whole castle, and there should be a few places you can attack from the castle to the outside only (archers, boiling oil, etc.)
There should be more invaders. A nortern tent complex, a southern tent complex, etc.

What if they had seige towers a trebuchets ^^. Nah I'm just kidding.
That would be nice to have a castle map. The outside could have like a tunnel and go inside the castle from there. A tunnel network maybe. And also have like empty land. That would probably be a bad idea. I don't know . I'm just a noob ^^.

Ya. He's thinking of Helm's Deep. Not bad. Tunnels would be screwey(being under the castle they would have to be to the side but connected or under, and a different color, or something. But there do need to be more attackers.

Well the tunnel will have to be very noticable. I know a bigger word but I won't bother you with it. (I'm not sure how to spell it ^^) the warp gates in space are clear because they are detatched from the planets. It might be hard to do it on land.

Oh I know what you mean. But it would probably be harder on land. What's the word? I like long words.

Maybe you could use battlements as territorys, and they could attack from the inside to the outside only(Sort of like x suggested)..

Some good suggestions folks - I especially think the one-way attacks seem good! Keep em coming.

Well would it not be cheap for them to be able to attack from 1 way and theres only 1 entrance unlesss I am mistaken and there are more???

I believe Im not realizing properly your idea, kevinc. In this picture there are not sufficient countries to make it a map. Maybe you could add some more locations, like a surrounding village, a windmill, blacksmith, an iron mine, a lumber camp, some hamlets...

Marv - in that map there's 20 countries. But it's a concept more than anything else. I can easily bump up the number of towers, attackers, as wel as the buildings inside the baileys very easily to make it a higher number.

well wouldn't it be cheap to be able to attack and not counter while your on the ground. GET SEIGE TOWERS ^^

hey, back to the idea of tunnels as a possibility.
Thought i'd throw this out there, but it is possible to have an upper and lower portion. Like you could have the whole Areal view of the castle and like 20-30 countries up in there, being all the castle, siege towers, etc etc. But then, right next to the map of the top of the castle, you could have the sub map of the tunnels connecting winding & connecting 2 opposite sides of the top map.
Granted, the map as a whole would look more like a rectangle than the typical square map if you're seeing my mental vision. This would definetely be an innovative and very different idea, but very do-able. Granted, you'd have to clearly mark the territories where you can come up to the top map from the bottom map. Just tomething to think about

To expand on that, a simple color code would work well, say, brown for the subterranean aspects and blue for the above ground, with red designating sites of intersection between the two.

Thats exactly what I was thinking. But you'd have to make the differences obvious, and the army color discernable in all that.

My idea would be to have an attacking force outside of the castle as another territory, with a battering ram, seige towers, the army and a Trebuchet

Is interesting. I would like more with more buildings inside, like a big fortress.
