Currently in a Beta game of France 2.1

I am rather enjoying it!
Not sure if these errors have been raised as I was not reviewing 40 pages of people talking about how the regions are shaped.

What I have spotted.

The foreign territory +1 Auto deployment doesn't happen.
Bombardment of Paris and suburbs isn't happening either
No view of the suburbs numbers just ? To cover troop numbers
Instructions say +1 reinforcement for every 4 territories within MINIMUM 4 troops - but you get for the territory count even with less than 4 occupying troops

also a bit of an imbalance regarding the regional shield bonus. +1 if you hold all of same shield, but Belfort has 1 shield while Brittany has about 5. But same +1 bonus? Happy this time...... I have Belfort and am nowhere near Brittany :)
Just an observation

That said, enjoying it thoroughly. Don't pull it.

which foreign territory? I looked at the XML and it all shows that they have an autodeploy of 1.
the foreign territories don't bombard suburbs, only paris.
not sure what you mean about the minimum drop.

I hold Pays Basques and I have Jura Suisse. The legend states these are foreign claims with +1 auto deploy. However no troops drop on them at the start of my turn, nor does the troop list acknowledge them when it runs through my bonuses at the start of each turn.
The legend states the foreign claims such as PB & JS can bombard Paris and be attacked by Paris in turn. However, Paris shows only as a ? So no idea of troop numbers in order to attack. Nor can it highlight as an attack from the foreign claim. Tag it yellow to attack from, and only neighbouring territories get the red box.

Finally, my last point can be set aside to an extent. It is simply badly punctuated and worded, and led to a misinterpretation of the legend. Perhaps a rewording of the legend? It seemed to read that you would get +1 troop for every 4 territories possessed SO LONG as they had a minimum of 4 troops deployed on them - rather than that you will receive a minimum "entitlement" of 4 troops OR +1 for every 4 territories if that is greater.

Hope this helps? But I do rather like the map and hope that it makes it to full play

As per March challenge,

and agree with the latest comments:

Like: bigmap, perfect for polymorphyc and groups

Dislike: Hold Paris and you win, like get the flag. May be that was the idea, then Ok.

Bug: no +1 autodeploy on foreign claims. In the Map->Objective summary, Belfort Victory is not mentioned.

Suggestion: leave Paris and suburbs as they are. Agree on attacking ro Foreign claims from regions, it raises game difficulty.

I see other games that have gotten the autodeploy...unfortunately I can't look at yours because it is fog. can you take a screenshot of you not being able to attack paris?

Great polymorphic map! Probably my favorite Beta map right now, I like that the gameplay is easy to pick up but it's still got some bells and whistles.

I like this map doesn't hinge on who grabs a bonus first and I like the +1s, it's very easy to read and play.

I don't like Vendee being an auto +1 starting as a neutral 3, I also don't like the island being only 2 territories and a +1 with a +1 for flags, There should be a third flag not on the island.

What I don't like about this map

I don't like this map. The size is good, (I like a big map) and the graphics are nice. But the victory conditions are not very well thought out. It just becomes a battle for Paris. I would make the forign claims NOT attack-able from Paris, but from the local regions. And a bridge should be there across the river to connect the suburbs to Paris.

What I like about this map

It is a big map and I like that. But I will not likely be a big fan of this map.

I really enjoy this map...especially in team quads or the couple of poly games I have played on it. The graphics are nice and even though its a big map it is not crowded at all.

The thing I don't care about this map is the foreign claims...at least in the games I have played they really don't seem to be worth getting or to be in play at all.

Currently playing a game of this, I held all the objective points for 1 round, but didn't win. What gives?

Game: 14134653 (but it's foggy).

Round 9: Completed holding all objective terts.
Round 10: Didn't win...

In summary, ended round 9 holding all the terts for objective win. Didn't win on start of turn round 10.

In contrast to Christmas, where I took my 5th star end of my turn in round n, and won on turn start of round n + 1 (Game 13805887)

Apologies if this isn't the right place for such a question and appreciate being directed as appropriate.

do you hold all of that red shield for the regional claim, or just Siene Maritime?

I see where you're going with this. I presume all of a particular claim must be held?

If true, I don't feel it's particularly clear in the instructions on the map. However, I won't moan about it. Lesson learnt.

What's your take on how understandable the instructions are? (poorly worded question considering the cirumstances, I concede...alas, I could do no better!)

1000% disagree with koontz here. It may have worked in the games you played thus far, but I doubt the objective has come into play as yet. As you promoted the lessening of neutrals in Paris, then access to the foreign claims will become more important. It truly never made sense to me that they were ever only accessible from paris, which also happens to be where the rest of the objective is as well.

I liked the addition of another Large map to complement USA 2.1, Hive & World 2.1 with differing dynamics in all

I didn't like how Paris & the foreign claims didn't seem to be highly relevant in most of my games, has any thought been considered on having the foreign claims as starting positions?

I remember looking at this thread a year ago, and I'd just like to complement the foundry on making the graphical amendments & I trust they did a great job throughout the process in bringing such a stellar product to us. Although I will admit I have had some difficulty in identifying territory connections sometimes :/
