Artemisia of Caria wrote:If you do not hurry to fight at sea, but keep your ships here and stay near land, or even advance into the Peloponnese, then, my lord, you will easily accomplish what you had in mind on coming here. The Hellenes are not able to hold out against you for a long time, but you will scatter them, and they will each flee to their own cities.

This was advice given to Xerxes, Persian King. He did not heed it, and instead entered the naval Battle of Salamis. Unfortunately, the Battle of Salamis was a logistical nightmare. It was not necessary for Xerxes to even enter the battle, and he eventually lost. Now, if he had succeeded, Ancient Greece's development would have been halted. Western Civilization as we know it would have been halted. This has been called the most important battle in the history of humanity. Everything would have happened differently if the advice of Artemisia had been followed. What makes this extraordinary is that the wisest military mind in Xerxes' army was a female.

Welcome to the First Tournament in my series: Wonderful Warrior Women.

I plan on exploring through history and bringing you the most exciting battles, fought by the bravest and most brilliant women to ever go to war.

Artemisia was the only female general in Xerxes' army, and likely one of the only female soldiers - period. Now you too can explore the options she dealt with, you too can either try to conquer the Hellenes or defend against the onslaught. The choice is yours.

Format:
All games on Ancient Greece map.
Manual (you need to have pure strategic control)
Sequential
Escalating

Adjacent (Triremes aren't very fast)
Foggy
No Turn Limit

Round 1: Players will play in 6-player games, 3 at a time. After 9 are done, anyone without a win is eliminated. If needed to make the groups even again, some players will get a second chance by lottery. After that, rounds are repeated with the formula:

P + R = G
where P is the number of players left in each game
where R is 4 - number of rounds
where G is the number of games played in that round.

When creating next series of groups, novel number of players will be favored. Also, number of players 6 and under will be favored since the map is so small.

Cool! Congratulations on getting this series launched.

=D> =D>

Of course I'm in!

Your wording is elegant, but some colour in the fonts would help attract attention.
