Thank you for the VERY informative bump.

Thanks for your very rude troll. Seems like you can't follow your own forum rules, unless trolling is OK when done by mods? High five for setting a good example.

This idea will be no more abused then the multi problem. Someone can easily make a multi these days and point dump; and it will be easy to limit the abuse done by this "gambling" system if there are simply limits put on the wagering limit.

edit: also, would teh idea of betting on others games be possible?

um... Special K, you bumped a thread after 8 months, after a mod had made a definitive post about the subject, with "Do want betting and gambling."     an 8 month bump without anything added except a funny typo? really? and then you get abusive towards Night Strike for his pointing this out? sigh... i'm going to miss you when you are gone...-0

points system

Postby eddie2 on Mon Jan 04, 2010 6:14 am

i think it would be an idea to have set points for matchs as this will stop lower ranks getting foed from high ranks to save points as they lose about 50 and lowers lose about 12

I'm not in favour of this type of system, it's probably best to keep things more simple. It also seems too open to abuse.

Moving on over to Suggs and Bugs anyway...

Maybe if it was less harsh on high-rank players when they get beaten by a non-officer, I'd be happy. :D But this, as Muh-Bung said, would be ridiculously abusable if implemented.

ok agree with wat u are saying but can we have somone to check on foe list or have a place to complain and have them changed if higher ranks are doing this as it stops lower ranks getting points and higher ranks not having to plaay good lower rank players for high point losses only some do this and stops people getting points myself i dont agree with foe list

No to this. I would be in favor of a standard amount of points though. Like 25 points per game per player.

Point wager games

Postby groblerg on Sun May 09, 2010 4:15 pm

Concise description:
  • Instead of learning how many points your lost/earned once the game was over, suppose you knew it before hand.

Specifics:
  • When creating a new game, the creator will able to specify how many points he's "putting on the table" for the game, any entrant to the game must match the creators offer. Thus when the game starts, participants will know how many points they stand to win or lose.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • It will create a new type of game, a poker type game for that matter - were the creator will in effect wager the amount of points they are willing to risk. Games with high "entry fees" might cause some players to stay away from the game as they don't want to risk their points and it should also mean that players will not want to miss their turn as the risk might be too grave.

i love the idea, but CC has a hard enough time regulating cheaters as it is... this is a can of worms that probably can not be opened.

This has been brought up many times, since the beginning of CC, one of the first suggestions made was to Wager points, but it has never been implemented, even getting the thumbs down from Lack himself.

Betting your points

Postby dhud101 on Thu Aug 04, 2011 9:31 am

It would be cool if players could "bet" their points. They could not do this on every game. My thought was the following conditions ONLY:

2 Player
Private Game
"Bet" cannot exceed 10% of players points
Must have at least 500 points

This is just a thought. I sent this out to a few people and they seem to like the idea.

If this would happen, these are the restrictions I see feasible.
Max 100 Points per bet. (as it is the max points changed per game now)
Each player must bet the exact same amount
Players may only wage against each other so often (eg daily / weekly) to prevent abuse

I think it is a good idea, it enables players to play games for 1 point.. great for learning games and equalling play through the ranks.

Greenoaks...there is always going to be farming and other forms of cheating on CC. The benefits of "betting" far exceed the drawbacks.

Yeah... and this just makes it way easier to farm.

You don't even need to consider farming. The point is that one theme which we soundly reject in this forum, is any suggestion that basically makes it possible to play a map without risking the loss of points. This more or less enables exactly that.

What about amending it like this...

Regular points... Half points... Double Points.. Cap at 100. That way there is still risk when learning a map, but not as much risk.
