well as I already told Armandolas, I have 2 teams, Marseille in France and the Betis in spain. If the betis is green and white, it's because our jerzeys are the ones from the celtic originally.

I was reading Marca.com and found a poll on the best 11 of the year. What caught my eye were the forwards... Do we live in a golden era of forwards?

I think we might do. The game currently glorifies forwards imo.

Can't remember the last time I saw a defender getting appreciated apart from Cannavaro in 2006?

So that poll is just for strikers I hope as otherwise it is full retard.

What strikes me in England at the moment is with the 4-2-3-1 forwards are regularly becoming obsolete for a few of the big clubs with more reliance on quality wingers and 'architects' in the number 10 position to win games. Chelsea are one of the best examples of this, their forwards have been total crap and players like Mata, Schurrle, Hazard and Oscar have been the difference in their big games. In other games you have had players like Soldado, Adebayor and Ballotelli previously ambling about waiting to be fed so they can try and poach glory and looking bored and lazy the rest of the time.

Are there excellent defenders these days? Honest question.

David Luiz and Thiago Silva come to mind, Varane might be one in the future.

It's the "delanteros" or forwards section of the poll, the results are completely biased because mostly RM fans and RM haters read Marca.com.

For instance, the defenders section has Sergio Ramos with the most votes, which is retarded with the second half the year he's having.

David Luiz isn't all that, Kompany is the best defender in the Premiership when he is fit at least.

I saw David Luiz a couple of times last year and he was very impressive. I admit I don't watch too much Premier League, I mostly only watch RM and Real Sociedad, every week, and maybe one or two other games in Europe every week.

City win the league with a fit Kompany and a fit Aguero. Vidic was better in his peck imo but Kompany is quality.

I think Thiago Silva is a real legend, so is Varana... I dun see EPL so I can't tell, to be fair!

Hey Nitto, there was a legend named Alessandro Nesta and he was never appreciated enough. ;)

He was very much appreciated. He played with Maldini, and Maldini played with Baresi.

At one point Milan had Maldini, Nesta, Costacurta and Stam.

And Italy had Maldini, Nesta and Cannavaro at some point as well.

Maldini was the best defender i can remember playing. Real shame he didn't sign off with a CL winners medal against the poo in i think it was 2005. That Milan side were quality.

Remember their tie against Deportivo? Won 4-1 at home and lost 4-0 away, they seriously threw 2 CLs away about 10 years ago. I was brought up watching Italian football, so sad seeing a great club collapse like that. Never forget that final against Liverpoo, fucking lucky bastards. Talk about Chelsea being a poor side who won the CL, Liverpoo go way beyond that.

I remember that one too, but the final in Istambul was much worse. It was 3-0 at halftime...

Lol i remember at that time i had movie theater ticket expiring that same day and there was the star wars movie (episode 2 i guess) that i really wanted to see. I could only watch the first half of the game, if i m not mistaken, sheva missed a very clear goal or they didn t get a penalty... Basically it should ve ended 4-0 at half time. So went to see the movie, my girlfriend at the time didn t really like football but still left the game while doing other things. During the movie she started texting me "hey it s crazy, it s now 3-2" ect... And each new message she was getting more excited while i didn t know if she was kidding me after the first half i had seen lol

I watched the PSG game today, they didn't look very impressive. Pastore and Lavezzi are playing under their level, Ibra needs someone who understands him.

Verrati is very impressive.

Cavani wasn t there mate. He had to fly to uruguay to seal his divorce. I was driving and listening to the game on the radio. Lille is third, and could ve been second just 1 point behind PSG had they won this. From waht i head lille played very well their defensive tactic and PSG had a lot of difficulties. paris played a league cup game on wednesday that went overtime until the 119th minute where they scored and this was their last game of 2013, so they were not at their tops.
I suspect that they are going to bring a few names this winter.

And yes, lavezzi and pastore are very disapointing, same goes for menez (he is getting kicked out of the team this winter, for the as roma again probably); lucas moura is quite desapointing too.

As i said earlier; the big strength of this team is the midfield verratti-motta-matuidi. All 3 are excellent. With cavani-ibra in front it s another story. The 4 mentioned before are not at the level expected... Now we are mid season and the transfers reopen on january the first, let s see if some big names start moving... Paris really wanted juan mata from chelsea last summer, maybe they will go after him again. The journalists here are pretty certain that menez is leaving, so i guess they have someone to replace him?

Predictions for Arsenal vs Chelsea tonight.

Both teams to score(4/7) and over 2.5 goals (8/11) look golden to me. Over 3.5 goals (7/4) maybe worth a punt too.

If I had to pick a winner, I'd have to go Arsenal (29/20) but not that brave. Bet 365 offering up to £50 risk free bet in-play, so definitely having a punt on this game tonight.
