One lucky year, so what? ;)

That year wasn't lucky - it was par for the course.
He's won four straight Ballons d'Or - and may well win a fifth.
Whereas, if Ronaldo wins it, it'll only be because Blatter cheated to give it to him.

Sempai, no need to enter in a cristiano vs messi debate again. The only moment when they can say something is now because of leo s injury. The only year cristiano can hope for a ballon d or is this year because it s not about being the best player of the best team anymore. Ribery being the best player of the bayern that won everything this year won t be enough, while ronaldo didn t win anything.
So let them wank about their edonist poster boy with a disturbing narcisist complex. This cristiano ronaldo only plays football to earn a ballon d or and doesn t give a shit about champion s leagues or world cups.

The other way round surely? Have you seen the video where Blatter praises Messi and calls him a 'nice boy' whilst slagging off Ronaldo saying he cares more about his hair.

Well that s the thing. That stupid blatter said out loud what he thinks in some private school conference and it went public. To save his face he modified the ballon d or votes end date, because Ribery was going to win it and cristiano s hat trick vs sweden wouldn t count. He had to do everything to show he wasn t against cristiano, so what he has been doing these past few month is to favour him to look impartial... And actually being partial.

the ballon d or is supposed to go to the best player of the best team. Then you have the fifa world player that kind of goes to the guy with the best individual stats in a team sport. Why the f*ck did they have to merge both, making both price a joke? The ballon d or has always been more prestigious than this lousy fifa world player prizer anyway.

Exactly. What is he talking about? Ronaldo has been the best player by far this year.

Ribery had the most votes and it s a fact. The delay changed the votes to a cristiano lead, another fact.

Titles won by Ribery and the bayern this year: bundesliga, german cup, champion s league, european supercup and club world championship. Only the 2009 barça ever did something as impressive as this.
Titles won by Cristiano and the real madrid: nothing. Liga top scorer of last season: Lionel Messi.
Liga top scorer SO FAR because Messi is injured; Diego Costa

What the f*ck did sissy boy do to earn the title of the best 2013 player? High on crack again?!? If it s not for titles, not for stats, you want to give him a ballon d or for best hairstyle?? Be serious for a minute will ya!!?

Give me proof of these facts and we'll believe you. The fact is that you can;t and it isn't.

Does the man of the match always have to play for the winning team? No. Same as the best player in the world doesn't have to play for the best team. And in 2013 he didn't, I agree with you that Bayern were amazing this year but they had a number of excellent players who came together to to create that team. Real on the other hand has been carried on Ronaldo's shoulders for the past few years, without him they'd be a lot worse off if Bayern lost Ribery.

Ronaldo has been on fire this year and not just for Madrid, he carried Portugal to the world cup, They were about to lose to N. Ireland and he stepped up. Who stepped up for France against Ukraine? Sweden fought back after Ronaldo had them almost buried and oh look who hit back. Ronaldo! Sissy boys don't score more than a goal a game in 150+ games for Real Madrid or is the record goal scorer for Portugal.

How do you know that the bayern without ribery would lose much less than the real madrid without cristiano? I am absolutely unsure of this. Ribery is the most important gear of the well installed attack of the bayern. Just look at the seasons where he s been a bit too much injured, compared to this one where he was at 100% all along.

Then you have Messi that was the top scorer, again, last season AND who won the league.
Basically, what you are telling me is that real madrid s team sucks very much, and that if it wasn t for cristiano that is the real madrid on his own, these guys wouldn t have won anything (oh wait, they actually didn t win anything)

Give me 1 ballon d'or, just 1 in all history that won it without obtaining a single title with his team the same year (as this is a team sport as far as i know!!). This simply never happened and would be an insult to the trophy.

The ballon dor isn't awarded in june, nor is it for the 12/13 season. Jan 2013 - Nov 2013. Messi has been injured to much this season and hasn't been on top form when he has played. Ribery isn't the reason for Bayern success, they don't have a weakness, that's why they've been doing so well. They are, and have been for the past 2 years the most organized team in Europe.

Robben and Ribery do the same job, miss one and the other becomes less effective. It's as simple as that, remove Robben and Ribery won't look as good. Who can you remove in the RM team to make Ronlado look worse... OZIL?

You are talking about a team whose players all cost 40kE each at least. So yeah, if you tell me for example that benzema doesn t do a huge work for cristiano, well ask cr7 himself. Or di maria, or modric... They all work for him.

Anyway, this conversation is pointless. The best player is messi, he is injured, and the player who deserves the ballon d'or is Ribery given the spirit of the ballon d'or. You need to be part of the best team to win it, that s what it has always been about. So was Cannavaro the most effective striker in the world in 2006? Lol.
Cristiano s goals, assists and hairstyle mean shit nothing. A goal and an assist are there to make your team win games, and those games are won to win titles. Cristiano, if he is so good, didn t manage to push his team to ANY victory. How can he be the best?

yeah, like half of the spanish national team plays there, which is twice eurocup and world cup holder + the rest are some of the best players of some of the best football nations. the team sucks, seems legit... mourinho being so successful probably wasn't a good coach either right? nor ancelotti... they have like 5 champion's league between both of them.

Well it does make a point somehow caf... Why is the real madrid so unsuccessful given their ambitions and budget? The madrid fans are probably the most demanding in the world. If they win the liga and lose in semi finals of the champions league, it s a bad season. In their mind, they are supposed to win every title, play the best football on earth and have all the ballons d or still in activity playing for them. I guess that facing reality sucks, right nietzsche?

In other news, i heard that ronaldinho might come back to Paris, where he played 2-3 seasons before joining barcelona. He still has a lot of football and will do everything to participate in the next world cup! (Not sure it would be the best move for him to come back to paris though, it would be hard to get to play) i don t know if you guys saw some highlights of the club world cup last month, he was still doing great with the club atletico mineiro, scoring a lot.. And they are the current Libertadores champions (central and south american champion s league for those who don t know).
Pogba or Cabaye are also targeted by the parisians.

I see quite a lot of Ronaldinho playing and he's still sensational. Best player ever during my lifetime. I wouldn't like to comment on best player ever as I wasn't alive when Pele and Maradonna were playing. I'd like to see him playing in Europe again though.

Pogba is a weird one. I'd be surprised if Cabaye went back to France, given how annoyingly well the French Geordies are playing.

Well if he gets the opportunity to go to paris there is no comparison with newcastle, would he play though? He s very good but he would be a substitute, most likely. Newcastle are asking indecent amounts of money for him.. And everybody knows that Paris will go for Pogba this winter or next summer (could be a 60M€ deal..) so i don t know if they will push too hard for Cabaye given that newcastle is asking 30M€.

Regarding the player that has impressed me the most that i ve seen playing... Ronaldo during his best seasons! Just loved that guy. I was living in spain still the year he signed for barcelona (he was 19 at the time). What a season! The crazy thing about it is that he scored "only" 34 goals, which is catpiss nowadays when you see the cristiano/messi races for the pichichi. He just had so much speed, power, technique and precision.... We were so lucky for the 1998 world cup finals that he got sick the night before and barely could play. Scariest forward ever! (After that, with his 2002 comeback ect he was still excellent but had lost lots of speed with all his injuries)

Why Ajax, because it's an historic team and the only one from Holland. Real Sociedad plays beautifully some times.

Which position to assign to which team stay and be another matter arguable;
to me, it is nice to see my team, "galatasaray" is a proud member of this list of true champions league :D

Wow... Arsenal love putting their fans through the mill

Went absolutely crazy when Nicky scored, and Theo's finish was class =D> Just like the 1-0 against Newcastle, that was a huge 3 points for us. Still fancy Chelsea or City for the title :ugeek:

They're all amazing players, obviously, but for me Ronaldinho was more of a complete package than any of them and his attitude on the pitch was incredible.

Frustrating 2-1 loss for Leeds at home to Blackburn. We seem to have lost our momentum again. Still hanging around the play offs which is nice. Could do with bringing a couple of players in, which we have the backing to do.

So what s up with leeds? What is going on with that club?? 10-15 years ago they were kicking ass with all their aussies and went to champion s league semi finals if i m correct...

Ronaldinho was incredible... But still... What are we going to say in 10 years time remembering the messi vs cristiano duel? The numbers are just not human, neither is their regularity.. Before, an excellent forward would score 20+ goals per season, that s not even half of what the other two score. We are just getting used to it, but I don t think we ll ever witness such prolific scorers again.. They will end up being the best scorers of all times of their respective clubs. Messi is very very close if i remember well. There are just some records you thought would never get beaten.
