Bollocks.

That's what I'm wondering myself.

The standings have a slot for Ties, not sure what was the deciding factor.

Now I've lost Richards, my best pitcher.

How am I suppose to win when I've lost Tulowitzki, CarGo, Cliff Lee and now Richards?

BTW, I have Cuddyer, Beltran, and Ortiz day-to-day.

I was pretty confident during the whole season up to this point.

With the loss of Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzales Serbia managed to pass me on points overall, not that it matters, but now I just think I can't compete even in the semifinals vs Pixar.

I can't find decent replacements to Tulo, Cargo, Cliff Lee and Richards.

So, I guess it's all between Serbia and Pixar now.

BTW, Serbia you're just too lucky with your pitchers picks.

shit got interesting in the fight for the 4th playoff spot.. the 3 contenders have still a chance.. as of right now trevor is in, incredibly enough Gabba has lost the advantage he had over dyrtydog

LOL

At the beginning of this week there was a triple tie in the fight for the last playoffs spot with one matchup to go. Gabba hey, shoop76 and trevor33 were all 12-8.

In case of a record tie, the deciding factor was points scored during the season, so Gabba had the advantage, next coming shoop76 and last was trevor. So, for trevor to advance, both Gabba and shoop76 had to lose, which was difficult because Gabba was facing dyrtydog and he's a deadbeat, or at least he hasn't made moves lately.

Today, in the last day of the matchup, both Gabba and shoop76 were down at one point and ahead at one point. trevor had his matchup decided already.

At 8:00PM ET, it was almost decided that shoop76 would lost, and dyrtydog had managed to turn it around, winning 177-170. But, there was one game to go, and Gabba had 5 batters there, which didn't mean much the way both Cleveland and KC have been pitching. And the weather forecast was of thunderstorms at some point during the night. Kauffman stadium doesn't have a roof.

At one point, around the 5th inning, Gabba had managed to go ahead, 177-178. But then came the strikeouts, taking it back to 177-175 after nine innings. But the score was tied! Lol, Alex Gordon had homered in the bottom of the ninth, sending the game to extra innings. Haha. And the clouds wwere getting close.

At that point, had the game ended after nine innings, Gabba would've lost and trevor would've made it to the playoffs with and incredible finish.

Top of the 10, one two three, let's go to the bottom of the tenth... wait no! Error of the first baseman so another Gabba player gets an AB. Lol. Gomes singles and the score is now 177-176! and here it comes another Gabba batter, but wait, there's a pinch hitter, so Gabba has no chance now.. except the pinch hitter hits a double off the wall and Gomes scores! another point for Gabba!!! Now it's 177-177.. lol. Gabba has home field advantage, so in the case of a tie he wins..

But, the way the last day of this matchup has gone, and the way the KC Royals have been rallying lately it's very likely that another Gabba player gets to bat in the bottom of the tenth and strikes out, so trevor has a slim chance of making it to the playoffs. So here we go to the bottom of the tenth, only two hits needed for Infante to come to the box and strike out... But wait.. looks like.. thunderstorms are finally here!! hahahhah

Rain gave enough time to Gabba to tie it haha.

So, Pixar(3) at nietzsche(2) and Gabba hey(4) at Serbia(1) for a spot in the final.

It was a bit of a mad finish, I was just a few point off from winning my last 10 games to get into the playoffs.

On week two I lost to Gabba by 9 points and I left 18 points on the bench when I didn't move Estrada into a starting position... only myself to blame for not making them last 4.

I was rooting for you. Because Gabba is a deadbeat.

That way to lose in the last game, in extrainnings and with a tie was cruel lol.

Every time I see a baseball topic in the Off Topics, I can only think of Tom Hanks saying "There's no cryin' in baseball."

The joys of living 6 hours ahead of most of the games I missed it, looked a bit bonkers tough. I blame the weather.

I don't care what Tom Hanks says, Suzyn Waldman can cry if she wants to!

Waldman was roundly criticized for her breakdown on the air following the Yankees' 2007 Divisional Series loss to Cleveland. She openly cried on the air for WCBS 880 AM while reporting about the morose atmosphere in the Yankees clubhouse on the post-game show. Waldman made reference to the sight of fellow coaches in deep emotion, and their collective realization that Joe Torre's tenure as manager was likely at an end as reasons for her tears. In response to the incident, Waldman stated:
This one's getting me angry, because I don't play this card a lot, but this is as sexist as it gets. What's the big damn deal? That I cried for four seconds of a 10-minute postgame? The idea that I can't choke up because a man I went through cancer with 11 years ago is going to lose his job and I was describing his coaches crying? It's absolutely ludicrous.

And I'm sorry, if you had been at Yankee Stadium, when one of your best team mates got up to the microphone and stated, "Today I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the earth" and not have tears afterwards, you have no soul! You don't cry when you loose a game, because there is always another game. But there are many reasons to cry in baseball.

By the way, I am a Suzyn fan all the way!
