Postby KoolBak on Tue Aug 26, 2014 9:47 am

Worked as an assistant on a copter as a kid....got to fly every day for a year or so and actually learned to fly one very slowly and carefully....if it wasn't windy.....

I could watch this dude all day....bet he's a vietnam vet....

rode in a helicopter one time but it may have been the best place on the planet to get into one.

Kauai Hawaii

not the company we used but gives you an idea of the scenery. i did not see footage from the extinct volcano...pretty much there are waterfalls everywhere as i believe it is the "wettest place on earth).

the only way to really see the island is by helicopter as roads don't go many places.

just realized it has been over 10 years and i need to get back

Jealous. Only been to Hawaii twice. After the second time we decided we should go every year, then we had a kid and haven't been back

Never flown a copter. Been in a few. Some of the ex russian air force copters floating around the third world complete with alcoholic russian crew are a sure fire way to get your pulse racing. Flew from Timor Leste to Indonesian, 1 1/4hr flight. No one warned me about cheap cigarette lighters and unpressurised chopper cabins..... Needless to say, was not a mistake I made twice.

 oh man....

Chris....I was lucky enough to have very cool parents that bought into the 1st timeshare on Kauai 45 years ago....has become an annual event over the years for about 30 of us.....after I had kids we went to the once every 2 year plan and it still hurts like hell....lol......fun times tho. You ever go back, pm me for some fun ideas-

The first copter ride we took was...geez....35 plus years ago and there were NO regulations.....the pilot was fucking insane and a war vet - THAT was the coolest / most terrifying ride I've ever had....took the damn thing sideways / vertical thru a rock arch on the Napali coastline......jumped the edge of the waimea canyon at its deepest spot at top speed about 6" above the lip.....did all kinds of crazy shit....it was awesome for a 12 year old

Nope. Those things look too dangerous. They'll never catch on.
