In recent years Washington in particular has taken to making very strong criticisms of what it alleges is a Chinese government programme of forced abortion and sterilisation against Chinese Uyghurs.

Since then, more credible claims have emerged that Nigeria's military has engaged in an equivalent campaign of forced abortion against women raped by Islamist insurgents in the country's north. However, in this case Washington and London have decided they don't really care because the claims related to Nigeria (government they like) rather than China (government they dislike):

Anyone reading who has dutifully bleated 'China bad' every time Xinjiang entered the news, consider yourselves duped!

NOTE: I do believe the Chinese government is engaging in the suppression of Islam and Uyghur ethnic culture in Xinjiang and I'm opposed to that. I just don't believe the unsourced and unverified claims thrown around by US State Dept officials that the Chinese government has set up industrial-scale rape and murder camps to abort every Uyghur in the country inside.

I'm sure as far back as Grade Two, my teachers taught me that "the other kids are doing it" is not a valid defense.

Lol, reminds me of an old Mad Magazine joke about two Chinese people pretending to have a Caucasian child. "Two Wongs can't make a White."
