Another success for Chinese diplomacy

After getting Iran and Saudi Arabia to normalise their relations last month, China has this month succeeded in getting high-level government ministers from the two rivals to meet, shake hands and enter into talks aimed at reconciliation:

The UN Secretary General reached out to extend his thanks to the Chinese government for this significant achievement.

The Chinese government's approach of dialogue, restraint and cooperation is once again peacefully bearing fruit. The decaying imperial powers would do well to take note and stop drone bombing each other (and everyone else).

‘another” presumes there have been prior successes.

Also this “success” hasn’t born any fruit.
Give it six months or a year and see if it sticks.
Too early to count your chickens mrswdk!

Chinese government: *makes unprecedented geopolitical breakthrough*
UN and US government: *thanks China and expresses support for their work*
jim: 'Hold on, let's see if this situation remains the same until 2130!'

You're the kind of guy who'd throw out his forks if he learned they were made in China aren't you?

I agree with uncle

It's even funnier that the U.S. yesterday sent the director of the CIA scurrying to Riyadh to remind MBS he's not to speak with Tehran or Beijing without permission. And MBS sent him scurrying straight back home.

The entire world is in the middle of a reorientation and all of America's stalwarts are falling away and looking for new patrons.

Osama bin Laden was right.
