My vote goes to Nikki Haley, but there were some clear winners and some people I forgot were even there by the end of it

I'd also add, I think Tim Scott did the worst and just kinda stunk it up. seemed nervous. prepared, but just choked

The only way to 'win' a political debate is to not engage with it at all, which is why my vote is for Trump.

I watched Trump on Tucker.

After I finished I felt completely satisfied so went to sleep.

After Just reading that Superman no longer fights for "The American Way" and it has been replaced by "A better future" I have to say, China has won.

This was basically the 'do you want Trump to pick you as VP' moment of the debate.. but sure maybe he will pick someone no one has heard of. Still feel like MTG is the frontrunner unless his campaign advisors talk him out of it

I doubt it'll be MTG. He'll want a caliber candidate. The election is really gonna be about the VP as everyone is going into this knowing Biden doesn't have another 5 years left on this Earth and Trump seems to have little interest in the day to day of running the country.

So it'll be whomever can contrast Kamala the best. My bet is on John James.

James is all black while Kamala is half black
James is a veteran while Kamala isn't
James is a businessman while Kamala is a lawyer
James can string three words together while Kamala can't

etc etc

He's from Michigan, and he's also not a Jew so he passes your anti-semitic test

You just know John James is swinging the biggest package in Congress based on his guns and his swagger / confidence. He's even a football hero. Guy's packin' 9 inches easy. Women and the gays will vote for this guy for Vice President over Kamala and her endless cackle.

Trump’s Tucker Carlson segment was bizarre and boring at the same time.

I watched Trump on Tucker.

After I finished I felt completely satisfied so went to sleep.

I agree, that is some weird porn fetish.

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2023/aug/24/trump-tucker-carlson-interview

There was plenty of weird stuff from Donald. He called Asa Hutchinson, the former Arkansas governor, “Ada”, and described Hutchinson as a seriously nasty thing that was so nasty he couldn’t explain why. He called Chris Christie a lunatic. He said Joe Biden couldn’t walk on grass or sand.

He even claimed to have saved the Tokyo Olympics by getting North Korean athletes to take part. Which is the kind of thing that can haunt you, late at night, if you try too hard to understand what he’s saying.

But then Tucker said Biden had skinny legs, and Kamala Harris was senile too, and that one of his old Fox News co-workers was a small man. He even claimed that Trump’s indictments weren’t “working” because Trump’s poll numbers were going up. Which isn’t how indictments are supposed to work – at least not in the criminal justice system

The debate confirmed these two things: that climate denial is thriving in the GOP, and that these candidates will do absolutely nothing to save the planet.

Wednesday night, we witnessed over two hours of fear-mongering and gaslighting, cynicism and whataboutism, canned talking points, and memorized one-liners.

Despite the pious-sounding, high-minded promises from moderators and candidates alike to focus on the really, really important issues — China! Ukraine! Abortion! — there was little that was serious or substantive in this so-called debate.

Consider just some of what we heard — or, more accurately, what we had to endure.

Consider, for instance, the response to this simple question: How would you fix the American economy?

You bring Anthony Fauci into the Oval Office, “sit him down, and you say, ‘Anthony you are fired!’” declared second-place candidate Ron DeSantis. (Fauci is a doctor, and he retired in December.)

(Maddow: I was shocked by how bad Ron DeSantis is at playing politician.)

The second question of the night came from a young conservative activist: How do you tackle climate change?

It’s a “hoax,” declaimed third-placed Vivek Ramaswamy. (A survey of 90,000 climate-related studies found 99.9% of them agree that carbon emissions are harming the Earth’s climate.)

OK, how about crime?

“When I’m president, the first thing I’ll do is fire Merrick Garland,” announced fifth-placed Tim Scott. (I’m pretty sure Democratic appointee Garland will no longer be the attorney general when — if? — the Republican Scott arrives in the Oval Office on Jan. 20, 2025.)

It was another reminder that the Republican Party of the United States is not a normal center-right or conservative.

The debate was hosted by Fox News — and most of the eight contenders seemed intent on performing for the Fox Cinematic Universe rather than for the American public. Multiple candidates — DeSantis, Scott, even Chris Christie — screamed “Hunter Biden!” at different points. There was the constant demeaning of transgender people. The nonsensical threats of a war against … Mexico. The brazen lies about Democrats’ allowing abortion up until “the date of birth.”

Forget a vision for America. These people have no vision for the Republican Party — a party that lost the House in 2018, lost the presidency and the Senate in 2020 and only narrowly regained the House in 2022.

Supporters lined the street outside the vehicle entry to the Fulton County Courthouse as President Trump's entourage arrived yesterday!

Li'l Pump is calling for the exoneration of fellow rebel Donald Trump from the old boomer hall monitors of the moribund and dying Democrat Party. He joins other hip hop stars like Chief Keef, A$AP Rocky, and Ye who are pledging their support to help Trump fight mayonnaise Biden and his party of lily white hall monitors.

Li'l Pump was one of the first hip hop stars to endorse Trump when Trump won the 2020 election and he's sticking with him!
