Losing strategy - OK or not?

4-player games tourney with round limits

I am currently tied with another player who is in position to win a game currently underway and thus put him ahead of me in the tourney. I stand no chance of winning this particular game because of round limits - my troops count is too low.

I am however in a position to make him lose and allow another player to win. By doing so, we will become embroiled in a 3-way tie for the tourney overall. My question is: Is making another player lose in order to stop him from getting ahead of me in the tourney an accepted strategy?

Any input appreciated, questions are also welcome. Thanks, DVD

You owe it to yourself to mitigate your points losses.
He loses and you gain a 3 way play off is that right. So you have another bite a the cherry. As long as the player you are playing is NOT me play to win Jax

Tie is better than losing!
