the Caffeine Rush

Caffeine Rush is a series of tournaments for all kinds of players, featuring just about every game type available on Conquer Club. This thread is to record the series as a whole and those who were good enough to claim a trophy. I'll include a brief description of each tourney, it's title and the winner(s). The purpose of this is simply to accumulate all the data, plan future tournaments and a helpful reminder of ideas completed to avoid repetition.

Caffeine Rush #1: Doubles with a Twist
Tournament Link (Jan. 2014 - June 2014)
Winners: TX AG 90 & geko
This tournament began as common doubles on player-chosen maps and settings. However, the next round combined these doubles teams and they then played quads based on their group positions from the first stage. In the final, four doubles teams would remain and play off in a round robin to claim the title.

Caffeine Rush #2: Triples with a Twist
Tournament Link (May 2014 - Jan. 2015)
Winners: (Capital W); patrick1744, pleve & Tazzy_J
In this tournament, teams would sign up with a home map for triples and also for each player to individually compete 1v1. Every round, as well as playing the triples matches, each player in the team would play their personally selected home map vs one of their triples opponents, in either a polymorphic or 1v1 game. In the final, all levels of polymorphic, 1v1 and triples were used.

Caffeine Rush #3: Am I Assed?
Tournament Link (Jan. 2015 - Mar. 2015)
Winner: Silly Knig-it
This was a pure and simple escalating assassin tournament, using random maps throughout.

Caffeine Rush #4: Polytastic
Tournament Link (Feb. 2015 - July 2015)
Winner: Kexor
This was a fairly simple polymorphic tournament in which each player chose their home maps and settings for two, three and four slot poly games. Starting with a 16 player group stage, leading into the elimination rounds.

Caffeine Rush #5: Crash Team Racing
Tournament Link (Mar. 2015 - Sep. 2015)
Winner: subprime
Based on the classic video game, each player chose a character from CTR to represent them throughout the tournament. Each stage was named after the classic cups from CTR's Arcade mode, and all games were random on default settings, incorporating standard, terminator and assassin. There were group and championship stages.

Caffeine Rush #6: Espresso Around the Globe
Tournament Link (July 2015 - May 2018)
Winner: virus90
This is a massive tournament, taking over two years to complete. Four groups would play a collection of standard, terminator and assassin games, playing two randomly determined maps per letter of the alphabet. Using a unique scoring system, the top two players from each group would progress to the championship round, where the same method would be used with unique maps.

Caffeine Rush #7: Back to Basics
Tournament Link (Apr. 2017 - July 2017)
Winner: Fyrdraca
Another polymorphic tournament, this tournament features five elimination rounds all played on basic, geographical maps on default settings. Polymorphic games of all sizes would be used with set sizes increasing each round.

Caffeine Rush #8: Doubles Fiesta
Tournament Link (May 2017 - Present)
Winners: TBC
This is a doubles league using every single map on CC. A GA medal would be awarded to the winner for such a tremendous achievement. The league is essentially a double round robin with a few extra games thrown in for continuity. The entire damn thing has to be managed with Google and Fixture List.

Caffeine Rush #9: Take a Plunge
Tournament Link (June 2017 - June 2018)
Winners: hjelp, elspaniard & rousseau72
This is a triples knockout tournament based on maps that strongly feature boats, ports or bodies of water. As is standard with Caffeine Rush single elimination tournaments, there are more games per round as the tournament progresses. This is the first Caff Rush tournament to use Challonge.

Caffeine Rush #10: Learn to Fly
Tournament Link (July 2018 - November 2018)
Winner: Tin Trumpet
Quick 1v1 tournament incorporating all maps that utilise planes/flight.
