The Official Rules of A Risktaker's Race

This tournament is expected to run about a year. (That is a long time and stuff happens. If you need to drop, no hard feelings, just let me know. I can make all kinds of arrangements if I know. Trips can be worked around, sitters arranged, etc.) The game load is 6 games at one shot but then nothing until everyone finishes that roll. So in the beginning that might take several weeks for everyone to finish a roll. As the game goes on, and people are eliminated that will speed up but should never be burdensome.

You are expected to pick up your games within 24 hours. Please let sitters know they are allowed to accept tournament games

Random.org will be used when randomness is needed.
The tournament organizer has the final say on all facts connected to play.

Introduction

Many set off on Start. 81 tiles and 77 maps ahead. Luck of the dice--be gone! With 6 1v1 games per round, you now have the power to win games and thus control your very own race towards the finish line! And may you find the ladders and avoid the chutes for no one knows where they are until the roll is finished by all (see explanation further on.)

But beware; go two rounds without a win, roll a 0, and you'll see yourself kicked from the board! Can you survive the long trek across five realms of Conquer Club play? Only one can seize the day and seize the board as champion of "A Risktaker's Race!"

Basics of the Tournament

The above, three-paged game board is a game board created by WC4J and modified by me. It consists of 82 tiles (including Start and Finish), 77 maps, and 5 realms.

In playing, each of the players is represented by a figurine (like in a traditional board game), which is "placed" on the first, Start tile (located in the top right of the board) at the beginning of the tournament.
Due to the number of players and size of the board, there will be only be two figures on the board, showing what tile the leader is on, a 6 die The trailer will be represented by a 1 die. I will endeavor to keep this up but the spreadsheet will always be more quickly updated and accurate. The spreadsheet will list the maps in use and who is on each map.

Play is divided into rounds, hereon known as "rolls."

Players first play games, and then move. And then in the first 3 sections, the position of the ladder and chute is calculated and applied. No one including me knows where they will be until after the roll is completed by all.

Like in any standard board game, players move from tile to tile towards the last, Finish tile at the bottom of the board.

But rather than moving through luck of the dice, the number of wins a player earns during a "roll" will correspond to the number of tiles that player may move forward.

So, if Klaus wins 4 games in Roll 1, he would correspondingly move 4 tiles forward (having "rolled" a 4), thus landing on Gilgamesh.

At the end of all players completing a roll, the position of the Ladder and Chute will be calculated and those will be applied. (See Chutes and Ladders)

Players will play games on the map corresponding to where they are located on the board at the start of a roll.
So, if Gunther is located on the Gilgamesh tile, he will play all his 1v1 games for the current Roll on the Gilgamesh map.

If a player does not win any games in a Roll, then that player "rolls a 0" and is eliminated from the tournament, upon the 2nd time this occurs!

The player to first land on Finish, or the last player remaining on the board, wins!

What happens when no players are on the same tile?

Also I cant quite workout how with 5 players you can get to 6 games a piece. Will someone play a 7th game?

Under game play format it spells out for each number of players how I get to 6 games each evenly. In this case for 5:
5: Each player will play 1 1v1 game each against the four other players, and an additional 1v1 game each against two different players, determined randomly

This works, this is the 3rd tournament that I have run on these boards.

When only one person is on a tile or everyone is on different tiles is addressed in the section "Advancing on the Board". I have now inserted another reference to that section in the main game play section.

Do the free choice tiles work in the same way as if you are the only person on a tile?
If so, if there's two people on the free choice tile can they choose different maps and do they still have to play each other?

Apologies if this have already been explained in the rules but I couldn't see it

If you are on a free choice tile you may pick any map in the section controlled by that tile provided the choice you make has at least one person so I have someone for you to play. This tile actually overrides. For instance if someone is alone on a tile they would normally get a choice but if the person on a Free Choice picks their tile then they are not alone as the free choice comes before their choice. Yes if there are two of you on the free choice tile, you may both pick different maps.
