Conquer Club

While there have been many "March Madness" types of tournaments, I would like to create a tournament where a team has to "earn" its way to the postseason. I have therefore decided to create an NCAA basketball regular season and postseason tournament. Depending on the number of entries I receive will determine how many conferences I will put in the game. Each gave will be a 1v1 SEQUENTIAL GAME while the "home team will get to decide what map, what type of cards and fortifications will be used. The conference teams will play a dual roundrobin schedule where each team willl host every other team in their conference. All conferences will have only 12 teams to create a level playing field.(As commish of the NCAA, I hold the right to add or subtract a team from a conference to fit this setup. Following the "regular season", there will be a conference tournament to decide on the "automatic" bid. 1/4 of the players will make it to the "big dance by virtue of how many "wins" they had. Should multiple teams tie for the last "at large" bid to the tournament, I will create a "playin" game where the winner can move on. Seeding in the NCAA Tournament and Conference tournaments will be done by 1)total wins, 2) head to head records, 3) your risk score at the start of the tournament.

*New rules added since start*
1. Only one exact match per map for each conference(can change the type of cards or fortifications with same map)
2. Premium members can have up to one team in each conference to help this fill out. Limit of 4 teams.




Game type: 1 V 1 Sequential
Premium membership or no other games going on at the same time as you'll be getting 4 games at a time on the schedule. If the game isn't completed after 14 days, the winner will be decided by total # of men left + total number of territories.
Cards, Fortifications, and map: decided by home team.(World 2.1 map not allowed; No exact map duplicates allowed in each conference for home court)
Tournament games will be decided by random.org among all available maps.


*If you wish to edit your home court after I've marked it on here either send me a pm or make a new post. Once the "regular season" starts, it will be too late to change though*

Home teams should join first. If after two days they haven't joined visitors join. By day 4 after I make the games, the game will result in a forfeit to whoever has not joined.

Just made a new rule that there will be a max of 1 for each type of map per conference to create diversity. If enough people disagree with this though, I'll remove it.

I think that a max of 1 is too strict. How about 3 or 4? Just my $.02.

Also, it might be hard to fill the tournament with that requirement after the most often chosen maps are selected.

So...what would it take for me to convince you to replace Fresno State with BYU since they are a better team anyways and since you just picked them to play to even out numbers??? If that's possible I'll take that slot with my settings as:

Too bad there isn't an easy and quick way for you to assign like 3 random non-conference games for each team. That would be cool.

I would like to rock UCLA - San Fran/Flat/Unlimited if that's not a prob.

yea it would be cool, but for this tournament, I just don't see how that could work in a fair manner. hence the 6 automatic bids from the conference tournament titles and then the at large bids coming from total wins. I think I wind up with 2 "play in games" in order to make it the 1/5 make the ncaa tourney. depending on the interest i might take the next 16 teams and put them in the "NIT"

I say roll with that idea of the NIT as the consolation tournament. Wouldn't be that much extra effort if you figure it is single elimination. I like, I like very much.....

New rules since I originally started this.

1. Home courts can not completely match any other ones in your conference(fortifications and cards can change the set up)

2. Premium risk members are allowed to have up to one team in each conference if they want in order to help this fill up faster. Non premium members are limited to only one team as I'll be giving out 4 games at a time for each team.
