yes a map has to be original but that's not enough.
if that was true i'd take a picture of my a$$ and say it's an original map

you need theme graphics gameplay besides originality.

if all of them are at high standards then the map is good.

you definitely have originality but the graphics are bad, the gameplay is awfull and you have no theme whatsoever.

So we should stop making geographical maps and focus on abstract ones? Come on man it doesn't make sense.

Try to appreciate the hard work that the other map makers are making for the community instead...

whats wrong with the gameplay in one-way ?
its not beczause you cant use your old strategies that are proeven good on this board that the gameplay is bad
you will have to rethink your gameplay if you play this map
i dont think that is bad
its so original that you have to rethink

ok scotland has mountains and rivers, .....
i know
but within the tecnical borders of conquerclub lies a lot off possibilities to make more original things
you can use the same gameplaystategy on iberia as well as on southaffrica or europe

one way crazy looks crap and will not play very well thats why everybody hates it not becasue it is not original, starting threads like this just increases the running joke the map already is

actually, i think the one-way crazy map has some potential. it doesn't make sense and the graphics are sub-par, but I appreciate the sense of humor. trouble is, you play it once and the novelty wears off. there has to be something more timeless about the theme - like a fun-house ride that is so entertaining you do it over and over again even though the twists and turns are the same every time.

the one-way thing was tried in circus maximus, but in that map there's nothing else to make game play interesting. I'd say that circus max was a necessary first step toward making a fun one-way map.

but yeah, what's this thread here for anyway, and why am i posting in it?

wel i also like to play the geographical maps
but there should be room for other things to
i think it might be interesting to play one-way more then once
after the first game, you will find your old strategy not accurate, and you will rethink it and want to retry it
and every new game is a refinement of the new strategy
when i started playing risk, i had to think much harder than now how to play
and i liked the thinking
