Re: Premier League Darts ( rescue )

Postby Silly Knig-it on Sun Aug 04, 2013 4:50 pm

I would like to start a tournament based on the Premier League Darts 2013 season. All games will be 2-player and the tournament features all the maps about the UK.

The real Darts Premier League only has 10 players but I would like to have 20 players in 2 separate divisions, with the top players from each division meeting in the play-offs at the end of the tournament.

These are the settings:

Number of entrants: 20
Maps: England (9 matches each), Scotland (2 matches), Ireland (2 matches), Wales (1 match), London (2 matches) and British Isles (3 matches)
Game Type: 2-player games
Play Order: Sequential
Troop Deployment: Automatic
Spoils: Escalating
Reinforcements: Chained
Special Gameplay: No Fog of War and No Trench
Round Limit: 20 Rounds

There are no point restrictions but players need to have premium membership because they will play up to 7 games at a time. I have introduced a 20 Round limit on the games so that players don't get bogged down with too many games.
Everyone will have 48 hours to join their games.

Here is the format of the tournament:

There will be 2 divisions each with 10 players; 1 division for players from the USA and Canada and 1 division for players from the Rest of the World. This is for games to be played quicker as you're more likely to be playing against opponents from a similar time zone.

The main season has 16 weeks, each taking place at a different venue around the UK. The map for the week will be based on the location of the venue. Everyone will play 1 match per week. There may be a pause occasionally to let matches finish.

During the main season each match is played as a Best of 12, or First to 7 wins, whichever happens first. So each match will begin with 7 games, then I will send out more depending on how close the player in the lead is to winning. For example, if after 7 games the score is 4-3, I will send out another 3 games etc. If you win a match, you get 2 points. If a match is tied at 6-6, both players get 1 point.

Everyone plays everyone else in their division once (9 matches total). At this point the bottom 2 players in each division are eliminated.

Then everyone plays everyone else in their division again (7 matches). Scores are added onto the results from the previous 9 matches. The top 4 players from each division will go through to the play-offs.

We are left with 8 players, so the quarter finals will be played as a best of 15, the semi finals will be best of 17 and the Final will be best of 19.

Order of Maps:

Week 1: Ireland
Week 2: Scotland
Week 3: England
Week 4: England
Week 5: England
Week 6: England
Week 7: Wales
Week 8: Scotland
Week 9: England
---Bottom 2 players in each division are eliminated---
Week 10: England
Week 11: Ireland
Week 12: England
Week 13: England
Week 14: England
Week 15: London
Week 16: London
---Top 4 players in each division go through to the play-offs---
Week 17 (Quarter Finals): British Isles
Week 18 (Semi Finals): British Isles
Week 19 (Final): British Isles

show: Div A

show: Div Aa

show: Div B

show: Div Bb

show: Quarter

Tie Breaker:
dean of 7 v ooge: 2-8 dean of 7 : 10 or 18
dean of 7 v lordlau1: 8-4
dean of 7 v Wizz00: 8-6 lordlau1 : 11 or 19

ooge v lordlau1: 8-7 ooge : 16 or 21
ooge v Wizz 00: 5-8

lordlau1 v Wizz00: 8-5 Wizz00 : 19

No matter who wins the match between Wizz00 and Ratrin, dean of 7 will be eliminated.

show: semi

Wizz00 & sandman175 move to the Finals

Finals: 18 games issued so far.
Wizz00 - 7
Sandman175 - 10

Winner: Sandman175

Combined Scores:
Division A:
Ratrin 17 +6 = 23
sandman175 17 + 7 = 24
lordlau1 11 + 8 = 19
harvmax 10 + 8 = 18
Evil Semp 11 + 5 = 16
Marshallbobby 11+5 = 14
rmjw10 6 + 3 = 10

Division B:
deanof7 14 + 10 = 24
jpk 14 + 6 = 20
Wizz00 13 + 5 = 18
ooge 8 + 9 = 17
mickunited333 6 + 9 = 15
adam666 8 + 3 = 11

In case of a tie, The tiebreakers will be as follows:
1. I will take the totals of the head-to-head competitions amongst those tied. Four instance if there are three people tied. Player A beat player B in seven games and And beat player C in four games. Then player A will have a total of 11.

2. If there are still people tied at the end of step one, Then I will take the total number Of turns that it took each person Winning their games. For example, player A, Took eight turns to win in his first game and seven turns to win in his second game and 11 terms to win in his third game, Then he will have a score of 25. And so on for the other players that are tied. This will only be the games that they played head-to-head.

3. If there is still a tie I will now go back to step one. And if it's still tied I will throw the names into random.org. Hopefully I have eliminated some in the first two steps.

If all the games that I have sent get accepted then we are back on track and moving forward. Hopefully, there are no more no shows.

The round robin brackets for the first 9 matches are in the third post.

Since the original creator of this tournament did not specify what to do in case of a time for Eliminations, This is the policy I'm going to use. I'm putting this out well in advance of when we will need it. I'm going to give everyone a week to comment on it. If you have a better suggestion or modification I will use it. Otherwise this will become the policy.

In case of a tie, The tiebreakers will be as follows:
1. I will take the totals of the head-to-head competitions amongst those tied. Four instance if there are three people tied. Player A beat player B in seven games and And lost to player C in four games.

If you have any thoughts, objections, different ideas, I will take those for a week and then this will become the policy.
