Most people on the site have made mistakes like this, but they learn from it. Try slowing down a little on taking your turns.

But in case you just like to go fast, there's a Greasemonkey script for that. :)

I know that we coul always download greasemonkey but not all of us have firefox. It would be nice to have this as an option here in CC. I say option because I think that it coul start getting annoying

But this really is just a human error problem. Once you get into a routine you start acting quickly and thats when you make mistakes. I'm sure that after people had the confirmations going for quite a bit that hitting the "Yes" button would become automatic and they wouldn't be checking to make sure they had the correct options selected, which would make this pointless to implement. I really don't see this as ever being an option here.

thanks iceman for the link i'll be sure to download it but i still think it would be a nice feature. plus on nearly any other program from MS word to video games they always ask after you click quit an"are you sure" type of question. i just thought it would be nice to have this and it shouldn't be too much of a programming hassle anyways

It wouldn't be difficult to add but it would potentially be annoying to other people who would then have to press an additional button everytime.

Plus it would probably be done in client side scripting which can be turned off in the browser options.

Problematic.

Postby T7 on Sun Jun 10, 2007 8:12 pm

This wouldn't work. It would slow down gameplay and be annoying, but more particularly...

We would all get used to clicking 'Yes' to "Are you sure?" and click it mindlessly - resulting in the same problem!

So we'd need an "Are you sure you're sure?" button... until we get used to that one.

No good!

I think an "Abort" button that is only active for a second or two on the next screen would make more sense. That way, it doesn't interfere with gameplay, you don't get used to clicking it, and it's there if you need it.

But it would be problematic to program.

even worse. If people were playing a Freestyle RT game and they hit end attack then watch as thier opponet takes one of thier territorys that breaks a continent bonus and the first player can easily take it back he would hit abort. It wouldnt be fair

i wish people would stop suggesting these greasemonkey scripts, not everyone ahs firefox. these should be avalable to everyone, or no one its not fair that firefox user get everything at a glance and everyone else has to work it out manually.

gimil, my original suggestion was for everyone. "Slow down when taking turns"

But since there is a Greasemonkey script for this problem, why shouldn't I suggest it as a solution? If it helps someone, then it's a good thing right? If you don't have Firefox then just ignore it. :)

No need to get browser envy...

This post is laden with truth. Everyone would just press the 'Yes' button automatically without thinking, so it wouldn't solve anything.

Just make sure that you're, well, sure, before pressing the button.

magneticgoop, is the game in question our current game where you managed to leave all your armies miles away from everyone else's during the fortifications stage?

Still hasn't stopped you winning it though... *grumble*

WARNING BUTTON

Postby THE ARMY on Tue May 20, 2008 10:51 am

How many times have you accidently pushed the "end-attack" button? This type of accident has cost many people many games and surely effected at least every player some time in their conquerclub career. If you could incorporate a warning button after the "end-attack" button I feel this would save a lot of people some gray hairs and also make the game more strategic, because those that know what they are doing don't want to screw up their turn by accidently pushing the "end-attack" button. For example if a warning button came up that said "are you sure?" after the "end-attack" button was pushed and then gave a yes or no choice. I believe many (all) people would appreciate this.

phase.

So many times I've missclicked 'end attacks' or 'end fortify' or have the territory that I thought I was deploying to be the wrong one that it makes me want to pull my hair out. How about a slight tweak to the system that asks if you are sure you want to do 'x' (end attack/fortify or deploy to xxx)??
I just think it might help, especially with new members and people with limited sight (such as myself)

Awaiting input from the powers that be.......

BOB does that for you. But as that was the first BOB feature that I turned off and I never want it back I don't really see the need for it, anyhow if it ever was introduced I hope it will be an option.

have you got Mozilla Firefox as your Browser?

you need to go through each phase as instructed ... you need to download Firefox, then Greasemonkey and finally Bob.

then if it does not work you either have missed something or you need to adjust your firewall settings perhaps.
