because the main reason to buy premium is to play more games and especially to be sure that whenever you feel like it you can take a turn in a new game.

if speed games are allowed to all then people without premium would just play speedgames and satisfy their hunger for games. would you buy premium if you knew you could play a speed game anytime you want?

i wouldn't.

I'm tired of this not going anywhere. I love this idea, but will it be accepted? How could a big map hurt any one?

i hope some day this map gets a green light, I for one would love to play it.

One word of caution as the geopolitical is ever changing and evolving the bonuses on this map in one sense need to be immune from that, however there is still gigantic scope without necessarily being overly controversial or becoming dated very quickly.

the world borders are pretty much set. yes some bonuses (nato or ue) are subject to change. i don't know if that will be possible since revamping a map and changing bonuses can't be done but i think a solution will be found.

Just a quick ponder.
What about Israel, how would that be on the map, its surrounded by countries that all have extremely different viewpoints and then israel wouldnt stand chance, and what would be the purpose of holding it what benefits culd possible mke it work. also what about countries that have internal strife ike darfur who would want that country?

would you get an automatic deployed bonus on usa because of our obesity problem? and would mexico start out with a 0 because all of their citizens have jumped the border to the states? and seeing as how france's army is a joke... they would start out with 0 armies?

in all seriousness though, i love 2.1, and a world 3.0 would be amazing to play on. i hope it gets done one day...

If it ever comes to life - I would just play it like 100 (of course, not at once; unless I would like to spend 24/7 in CC :P ) times just because it's such a wonderful idea and it's a loooot of hard work. Good luck with it when you have a chance to work with it!
If you need any help, then give me a "call", I might be able to give some help about Baltics, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe (like you don't know enough about it :P ).

Id like to see a draft of how you were going to pull this through.
How big of a map are we talking about?
Are the army circles gonna be in the oceans with arrows to them?
In short, the idea is likable - but now let me see what you mean.

Darfur isn't a country, it's a place.

i'm ashamed to say it out loud so i'll put it in very very small font.

8000*4000 (without legend)
~9000*4000 with legend and various rules

Right - so how big will it be when it's been scaled to the site?

~66%

that still means ~6000*2700. remember i'm aiming to include absolutely all the countries and some are really really tiny.

Right - well you're never gonna get that.

I think you can make more use of the space MrBenn is getting the small countries in on his Europe map pretty easily.

i know :(

actually i never made a real map so far. this is my only project and if i'll ever do it i want it to be as accurate as possible. somewhere in this thread i said i plan on doing some border skewing in some places. for example put the continents closer by butting the ocean, make small countries a bit bigger and the big ones smaller and so on. but then the map will barely resemble the real geography and i don't want that. if i make this map i want it real not shitty.

as for benn and the europe map please keep in mind that his map is 800*620 and europe is only 2% of the world's surface.

so take his map multiply it by 50 and you'll get 4000*3100px map. add to that the extensive legend i have and you'll get aproximatelly what i told you above.

Well, I am willing to say this much...

You will be surprised by how much more we are going to be able to offer you space wise after the UI update...

...but it won't be enough to cover what you are trying to do. Not even close. :(

gimil's right i'm not usually happy with little crumbs of the very large pie.

plus what was i supposed to do? jump for joy when coleman told me this map isn't possible?

it's good we're gonna get a bigger size, it's bad that it won't be as big as i need it.
