Man, not a good start for the new LoW clan...
And another sorry for the LoD delay, there was a lot of confusion with who was taking over as our captain, but games should be joined in the next few days.

Are you serious?? the only map with 'special techniques' in my opinion would be Pearl harbour from that list all the other maps are maps that require skill to play and are pretty standard in my opinion.. Pearl Harbour is a bit of a luckfest so should go within ur favour anyway... as for Rail, Benelux and AOM and KOM i'm sorry but theres no chance in hell I'm going to so much effort to change them now surely u have players capable of playing these pretty basic maps?? not exactly bamboo jack is it.
Please just join them already... only reason I chose some of these maps was so u couldn't rely more heavily on the luck factor. Also what would u consider the problem to be with KOM and benelux especially?

It doesn't include those that were quenched most recently, and some of the maps Coleman describes as gimmicky, seem fairly straight forward. such as world 2.1 but here is the foundry's list of gimmicky maps as of 20/10/07.
Coleman wrote:There has been a recent tendency for new maps to grow more and more complex, this is something lack encouraged when he added more xml features. But do you like it? That's the question.

Look I'm sorry if this is causing some confusion. The only reason I made that rule is because I want this to be a fair competition. I am sure 1 or 2 pearl harbour games would be fine, but I didn't want some clan specializing in pearl harbour. If everyone is reasonable then we should be ok. I for one hate these special maps but if my team were asked to play some then I'm sure we can find someone to play them, just so long as they are not too many of them. In the case of thota, I feel that they did offer a variety of maps and wern't 'playing the system'. Thanks DW for your understanding and flexibility in changing these maps, it really is appreciated.

so we're rewarding little noobs who only play a couple of the old, boring maps now?
if pearl harbor was really the issue, fine.....but i know i didn't have any games on that map.....just had to drop games on KOM and Benelux, which are totally normal maps, what is w/ you wusses?
also: what happened to the original post? yorkie edited out the rule about maps, but then it's quoted by other people in the thread. and rebel, the attempt at helping the discussion is appreciated, but the foundry folks don't decide which maps are officially quirky......it's looks like whiny losers do in this tourney....
bottom line: if you don't know how to play certain maps, that's a hole in your game, and you shouldn't be let off the hook for that. why should i have to give up an advantage b/c an opponent can't match up on all CC's beloved maps?
nice job, yorkie, telling us to pick maps w/ an exceptionally vague caveat. leaves you open to plenty of criticism that the tourney is slanted......that's ok we'll win anyway

oh and btw, an official list of permissible maps would be helpful so i can set up new games.......cowards

I don't think you are giving up an advantage when the maps clearly were not supposed to be used in the first place. I think its more like staying with the spirit of what the tournament was meant to be.

What's the difference between Imperial and Double Dragoons? Just 2 teams you guys made up or is it an actual different clan?

No Neph the bottom line is that this is my tournament played to my rules and I will not allow you to turn this into the flame war you did with the recent thota-koe challenge. Quite simply any more from you and you'll be out of the tourny and if that means thota pull out then so be it.

As you and your clan have declined to take part in this then really I don't see it as any of your business. Please stay out of my tourny thread.

Since we required a different name for the second Imperial Dragoons team, it was the first one to come to mind that would distinguish us from our team 1 brethren, yet still remind the opponents which clan just destroyed them

see, here's the problem, and this is a question for you, yorkie. the fact is, very little was/is clear about the maps that are allowed. you mentioned 2 by name.......then deleted the phrase from your original post.
so i had one map, AOM, that was not allowed. i actually didn't know this as i had never read the thread before i was told to delete those games.
so the original directions on allowable maps were very vague. when the issue actually came up, yorkie's ruling was essentially, "if a clan team does not like the map, it is not allowed." this is not really helpful and seems to give an advantage to those who only play certain maps, while taking away an advantage from those who play lots of maps. the real problem, i would say, is it was all off the cuff and not clearly spelled out until someone complained about my maps. just doesn't add up for me
so can i please have a list of disqualified maps too?

LOL- Are you serious? It is after all related to the thread. Last time I checked you weren't an authority on Dragoons.
I actually would've liked to play in this tourny but like I told you when you asked- several of our members will be away for the holidays until the end of the year. We're also not at a full roster yet.
btw-- They have meds for bi-polar disease...........

Sorry am I missing something here?
You have decided against joining this tournament for one reason or another, and I respect your decision.
I fail to see however, why you continue to post here. The rules and format of this tournament has absolutely nothing to do with you as you are not competing in it. It is none of your business as to who I have in my tournament or how I run it. Sorry Scott I don't mean to be rude but can you stick to posting in tournaments that do concern you, and allow me to run my tournament my way. thank you.
