At least with democracy a corrupt leader can be removed. Takes a coup with facism. As for civilization rising from fascism? The cultural identity of the West, as an example, was first established in Greece, a Republic. Even if that wasn't the case civilization could rise from any form of government. Dictatorship is just the simplest, and hence one of the first used, form.

Ah yes, democracy. Remove one corrupt leader, only to have him be removed with yet another. Cut the head off from the evil democracy, yet another takes its place. The phoenix of hell as it were.

I should like to add, Greece was under totalitarian rule before becoming a Republic. What if there had been no such rule? Would this Republic have come to be? What of Rome? Caesars ruled, before the Senate gained more power and lead the Empire?

any anyway it seems to me that those leaders didnt so much start civilisation as inherit the right to rule and i think we can argue that with reak rulers the government tended towards and oliarchy or aristocracy. any a civilisation would be very well developed before the concept of a hereditary ruler evolved

Why yes, one is outdated, whilst the other is quite modern, and refreshing in the concept of statehood. There is very little difference between the two. Both systems merely had different masters who acted as tthe State.

Not a modern country for sure, modern countries have wide-ranging freedoms of speech. He hasn't quite gotten around to it yet, but I'm sure he'll explain why that's a bad thing.

Okay. Evidence. The new deal, possibly the most socialist set of bills signed within the US, stimulated the economy during the depression. In the few decades following the depression and world war 2, when the economy was at its highest, the upper 1% had about 13% of the nations wealth - in the years before the great depression, the late 1920's, they had 17%. The economy has slowly been draining since the 50's: now the upper 1% have 17.4% of the nation's wealth.

Conclusion: The more the rich are taxed, the better the economy. And it's no surprise: Money that would normally be stored in banks or safes is instead circulated through the poor.
