I'd be happy to come play you, Marvaddin, but the site is down while they move.
If there's time to challenge you when it comes back up, I shall.
for anyone who uses Firefox and plays Hattrick, you should check out
FoxTrick (if you haven't already)

for training it's very important but new teams generally have others things to spend their money on.
what's your team name? and the stats for your current coach?
Team name= Tiger Style
Alias= Machiavelli
Off the top of my head... my coach has excellent experience, poor leadership and weak training his pretty bad.

ok, your coach is:
A
weak trainer who is defence-minded
A sympathetic guy who is calm and upright.
Has
excellent experience and
poor leadership abilities.
the important stats are bold.
trainer skill = how quickly your players improve their skills (training intensity also affects this)
good experience helps if you play a formation your team don't play too often.
leadership affects how well your team performs on the pitch. Not sure exactly how, but it used to be as simple as: higher leadership = stronger midfield.
when you employ an external coach, experience is random.
I'd go for a solid trainer, weak leadership.
Leadership drops slowly over time.
Sack him when he drops to wretched leadership.

I just signed up. My team name is, "VisionsOfHoff". It said that i would have to wait about a week to get started however. How long did it take everyone else to get activated? And i'm not really sure what i'm supposed to do at Hattrick, but i'm sure i'll figure it out once i can start.

different countries have different size waiting lists. England's current waiting list is 0 while Sweden have a waiting list of 46. The season is ending this weekend, so to be honest, 1 week is just about perfect for you.
First thing you should do, when you get your team, is.... nothing! (until you have read all the rules)
even now, without a team, you should be able to log into the site. Go to 'help' then 'rules' and have a read. Most of what you need to know is in there.
a long term training plan is usually the best way to go, but wait til you get your team before you worry about things like that
And welcome to the world of hattrick!

That would cost me about 617000 and I barely have 100000

How are you so good?
I finished my first season in 7th place. I started with only seven games left and went 4-3-0. The team I tok over hadn't won a single game though, so I finished with 12 points
I only get 30000 from my sponsers

I just finished my 1st season too... 3rd place, and now I have a passable coach

going to buy a solid i think, spent the whole first season with a shite coach, only one of my players popped, he is now solid and im going to sell him to finance my new coach.

congrats on finishing your first seasons!
your first full season is where it really begins though.
As for the Aliens, we've managed to over-haul a 4 point deficit in the final 2 games of the season to win the V.202 title! Play-off time, here we come

edit: should read: sack 1 or 2 full seasons after he reaches 'wretched' leadership
That would cost me about 617000 and I barely have 100000
OK, I've taken a look (taking into consideration my approximate conversions to pounds stirling) and I'd go for a passable/poor coach. Keep him a season, maybe 2,
after his leadership drops to wretched. Don't invest in your youth squad for this season, that's a waste of money at this stage. The youth team system in Hattrick is a lottery, and you should only gamble what you can afford to lose. At this time, you need all the cash you can get.

Watch out Gav, if you buy a coach, i think he has to be in your squad for a full season before he can coach...Just check the rules before you sell you current coach.
I'm up for a friendly if anyone's keen...
My teams finally starting to show some promise after 2 seasons, but i have to stick with my crappy coach for about half of next season
I see they are adding some new features for the Youth Squad, looks quite interesting. Anyone play on Battrick? Similar game, just it's cricket not soccer.

That would be if you buy a
player to promote to a coach. This is for more established teams, you buy a player with high experience and leadership, and promote him to coach and save a packet!
If you just hire a coach, he coaches immediately.

Can you specify when the player should be substituted? My substitutions never enter the game

currently no
there's been talk of them adding this, but for now they will only get to play if there is an injury

I've started a seperate thread for us to all list our usernames and team names
HERE
If we stick all our team names in one place, it should be easier to know who to look for if we ask for friendlies etc.

Yeah, i figured that out after i posted
But, it works out cheaper to buy a good player/coach than hiring a new coach.

Yes, I'm L'Oreal-Zat! In II.3 in Australia. Is a very good game, I prefer it to Hattrick (although it has taken me over 3 years to tire of it!)
My team is "Space Munkeys" in III.6 in South Africa.
I kicked some serious arse in my second season, moved up a level & now i'm the whipping boy

I used to prefer battrick, but now I enjoy hattrick more coz my teams better & i'm actually winning some games

When you say in the bank, do you just mean in the cashfunds part of the economy, or is there a bank where you can deposit money and get interest?
